104 Jackie Mitchell January 7, 2013 at 9:08 pm: My favorite (and my family’s too!) recipe in cold weather is a baked oatmeal recipe I got from a church recipe book we put together a few years ago. It only has 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a 13×9″ baking pan and uses those awesome frozen berries from Costco that you stir in during the last 15 minutes of baking. The end result tastes like a cross between oatmeal and coffee cake – dessert for breakfast AND IT’S HEALTHY! Takes moments to throw together, and you can do other stuff while it bakes. This is still my favorite “cold weather” recipe because now I go skiing with my family and it is so easy to dump all the cans of ingredients in a pot when we return and in a snap it is ready to warm us all up.
