Childrens Book Giveaway!!! I’m The Scariest Thing In The Jungle

by Jamie

Today, because it’s Friday…and due to fact that Halloween was yesterday, I am thinking some of you may have blood-red face paint stuck in your bathroom sink, there might be a few burnt out jack o lanterns on your front porch, and you may or may not have consumed more chocolate than you had planned on. No? I guess it’s just me then. 🙂 In any event, the spooky holiday is over and I feel like talking about books rather than food. If you have a strange loathing for  books, then come and see my bright and early Monday morning, and we will discuss food in the form of my November Menu Plan. Deal?

For as long as I can remember I have loved books. It’s a little something my mother passed on to me, a hobby we share together I suppose you could say. (You can follow me on GOODREADS by clicking HERE, if you so choose). Books for children are especially fun, and I have a great one to share with you today.

cover page

I’m The Scariest Thing In The Jungle, written and illustrated by David Derrick Jr. is a darling children’s book with captivating illustrations and a fun story.

Scetch Page

Inside the front cover are sketches of all the different animals that are in the book. My kids had a great time searching for them throughout the story.

Aaron

You can see MyLittleTwinBoyAaron here trying to copy the sketches. My kids love this book, as do I. I recommend it to any of you with children or grandchildren. It would make a great Chirstmas gift. 🙂 You can buy signed copies, with an original drawing, found HERE. Davids books are also available on Amazon and can be requested at most book stores.

The author, David Derrick Jr. has generously offered to send a signed copy of The Scariest Thing In The Jungle, a copy of his book Sid The Squid, a jungle T-shirt and a flashlight key chain to one of you lucky readers.  To enter the giveaway just leave me a comment below telling me the name of one of your favorite books for children. This Giveaway will be open from today until  Thursday November 7th. I will announce the winner bright and early Friday November 8th.

Disclaimer: Prize package sponsored by David Derrick Jr. , thoughts and commentary regarding the book are my own.

Ohhh, I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old that would LOVE that book! (And quite possibly my 8 and 11 year old, as well). Childrens’ books are the best way to pass a cold, wet evening.

Oops–I just reread the post! We have lots of favorite children’s books–My 6 year old loves all the “If You GIve A Mouse A COokie…” books, but lately has been into the Olivia books. My 8 year old might have out-grown the Fancy Nancy books, but I still catch her reading them, sometimes. My 3 year old loves “Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed” I think it’s becasue he can relate:)

One of my all time favorites is you are special by Max Lucado. Love the message it gives to my kids that they are special no matter what. 🙂

My kids love the Froggy books. Froggy goes to camp, Froggy goes to bed, there are lots of them. If my husband is in the mood to read Skippy Jon Jones are so fun to hear him talk in a spanish voice! We spend many hours reading at our house.

My favorite children’s book is “I’ll Love You Forever”. It is a touching story that makes me cry every time I read it. It is the story of a mother singing to her son from birth through her own old age when he holds her and sings that song to her.
