The winner of the Children’s Book “I’m the Scariest Thing in the Jungle” is Lori Nahoum! Congrats to you! I will contact you shortly to get your shipping info. Now to the recipe at hand…
Last week, on Halloween night my daughter Anna had a bunch of friends over for a little costume party.
They ate scones and giggled, and laughed, told a few funny stories to each other and then watched a scary movie. My friend Heather sent her kids to the party with a fabulous Creamy Onion Chip dip to share. Man, it was good. MyHandsomeHusband and I kept sneaking bites and saying to each other “Holy cats, what is in this!” and wondering things like “Gee wiz, how have we never eaten this fabulous dip before!” and “Good glory, this dip goes well with an almond joy or two or five.”
It was Halloween after all, and you know how chocolate gets to lurking around every corner on that day. 🙂
So, like I always do when I taste something fabulous that I love and think you all will love too…I tracked down my cute friend Heather and asked for the recipe. She said it was so totally easy, I wouldn’t believe it…just two ingredients is all I would need to make it happen.
And here they are, ladies and gentlemen. Lipton Onion Soup Mix and good old Sour Cream. I bet many of you have eaten this dip before, am I right? You can think of this post then, as a sort of reminder. Keep it in the back of your mind and pull it out when you have some cute hungry teenagers to feed, or for and appetizer at your thanksgiving table, you could make it on game day, on Sunday or a Monday…any day, would actually be a good fit come to think of it.

I grew up eating this yummy dip but we always made it with 32 oz. of sour cream to one packet of soup mix. Super yummy but not as strong. 🙂
