If you have followed my blog, for even a short time, you know that I am a huge fan of Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom soups. I keep several cases of them in my food storage and consider them a staple.  These little cans of soup may not be considered “gourmet”, but man can they keep my family happy. Most of my kids’ favorite comfort  meals call for cream soup. You might also find it interesting to know that many of my most popular recipes here at Jamie Cooks It Up are made with cream soups, including  Crispy Cheddar Chicken which is my most popular recipe of all time (more than 3 million of you have viewed it!)
Cream Soups, ladies and gentlemen…they totally rock. At least in my little world.
For more than 144 years, Campbell’s Soup has been making meal time great. (That’s a long time!) They have a cool new website, dedicated to family friendly recipes that are appealing especially to kids. It’s called The Wisest Kid In The Whole World and focuses particularly on picky eaters. (Everyone I know has at least one of those, right!) The website is fun to browse through! You will find many classic recipes, fresh new recipes and even classic recipes with a twist. I have my eye on their Pepperoni White Pizza Skillet as well as their Chicken and Corn Chowder. I’m hoping to try them in the near future.
Below you will find some awesome recipes from my archives that use Cream Soups. Hope you find something to love!
PS…good luck with all of your holiday preparations! Hope things are going well. 🙂 Pass the cheese ball…

  1. I’m with you-I love the versatility of these soups. I see so many blogs where they are derided as sodium bombs and every other derogatory adjective but I don’t care-they are great.

  2. One of my other favorites, that I often use instead of the CofC (or in addition in your chicken and rice recipe above – LOVE IT) is their cheddar cheese soup. Many recipes that call for cheese get an extra boost in our house with that soup. Love Campbell’s and love your blog!

  3. I always keep Cream of chicken and cream of mushroom on hand. My family also loves it when I mix both cream of asparagus and cream of celery together or cream of broccoli with either cream of asparagus just as a nice hot creamy soup for lunch. Occasionally I’ll toss in some shredded cheddar. It hits the spot and cream soups never leave me hungry later.

  4. Thank you for these ideas.
We make chicken green chili enchiladas with white sauce, the base of which is cream of chicken soup.
I also make an oat steak patty that uses cream of mushroom soup.
