White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies

by Jamie

December is on the horizon once again, my friends…which means it’s time to bake delicious things and share them with your neighbors, friends, co-workers and family. 🙂 There are many, many wonderful Holiday Treat recipes in my archives (you can see a giant list of them here).

Of all of the wonderful treat recipes I’ve come across lately these heavenly cookies are my new favorite. There is just something wonderful about the combination of white chocolate, orange and cranberries. The three make a happy concoction, of that you can be sure. These cookies in particular are super soft and chewy on the inside, while being just a bit crisp on the outside. The white chocolate is dreamy, the cranberries slightly tart. It’s a great holiday cookie. Hope some of you get a chance to try them.

Happy (almost) December!

White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 55 minutes

Yield: 48 cookies

Ingredients

1 C butter
2 C brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tb milk
2 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 C craisins
3 C white chocolate chips
Orange Glaze:
3 Tb white chocolate chips
1 1/4 C powdered sugar
3 Tb orange juice
dash salt
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in your stand mixer (or large mixing bowl) for 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs and beat for an additional 1 minute. Add the vanilla and milk and mix just until combined.
4. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix until combined.
5. Fold in the craisins and white chocolate chips.
6. Spray your cookie sheets with cooking spray. Roll the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place them on the sheets. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until the top of the cookies crack. Remove from the oven and allow them to finish baking on the sheets for a couple more minutes. Make sure you don't over bake. They are best when they are nice and chewy.
7. Remove the cookies to a wire rack and allow them to cool.
8. To make the Orange Glaze, place the white chocolate in a glass measuring cup and melt it in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each one. (It should only take a couple). Beat the melted white chocolate with the powdered sugar, orange juice, vanilla and dash of salt. Mix until nice and smooth.
9. Pour the glaze into a ziploc bag and cut a small snip out of one corner. Pipe the frosting onto the cookies.

I made these tonight and they were delicious! We loved them. I did add to the cookie dough 1 orange zest. Such a great cookie to serve on my Christmas cookie tray. Thank you for posting this delicious cookie recipe. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Love your blog. I hope to try the spaghetti sauce this week too!
