I’ve had Apple Cider Caramels on my bucket list for a while now, after seeing them show up around the blogosphere over the past few years. Caramel and Apple are two flavors that compliment each other with a wow factor all their own. I found a couple of recipes that caught my eye, however they calle

Hello to you all!
I wanted to let you local readers know that tonight (Wednesday)
I’ll be teaching a cooking class at
The Pleasant Grove Maceys.
I will be making Homemade Caramels,
It’s national popcorn day! I wanted to come up with a fun recipe to share with you all today to celebrate. I ended up adapting the Sugar Crunch Popcorn recipe that has been living in my archives for a long time and happens to be a family favorite from way back. I’m talking about decades, people. My
The very words just shout “Fall”, don’t they?
Dip those bad boys in a little chocolate,
paint a little more chocolate on top…
and let’s just say,
you are going to be in a happy place.
Very happy, indeed.
To tell you the truth, making Caramel Apples has always intimidat
Make this Caramel Smore Munch Mix, won’t you? It’s packed with the flavors of Graham Crackers, Marshmallows and Chocolate all covered in a crunchy caramel. It is absolutely wonderful, and slightly addicting! I would wager that one bite will not be enough. You may want to…
Several years ago my sister Alli brought to my attention a wonderful recipe for caramels that didn’t require the individual pieces of candy to be wrapped. Besides saving time (which let’s face it, is a blessing this time of year) this caramel recipe was also laden with chocolate and pecan pieces.
Quite a few weeks ago I got a little note from a reader telling me she had discovered the best caramel recipe
this side of the universe.
I just couldn’t help but make it!
The first batch was consumed before it could show up for a photo shoot.
That’s butter and brown sugar for
Not because I have a fascination with real live turtles and think it would be fun to nibble on one. I’ve actually NEVER wanted to do that. Thank you so much for asking. You are always so considerate. 🙂
Happy Halloween Week, everyone!
I hope you have some spooktacular plans coming your way.
I really love Halloween.
Not the scary, morbid, freakish, blood dripping kind of Halloween.
I don’t really get into all of that, haven’t ever really seen the point.
Blood and guts and gore.
Oh my dear reader friends. Does that not just put a SMILE on your FACE! I had such a fun time making these, I didn’t even mind the mess it made of my kitchen. I didn’t even grumble when I looked up and saw my entire counter top riddled with paint, brushes, cups of water, hot glue guns, and woo
Well now! Shut the back door.
Do I have a yummy treat for you today, my blog reading friends.
I’m sure many of you have seen recipes for cookie dough truffles floating around the food blogosphere.
Well, I had to get my hands on some.
Just had to.
I’m weird like that.
I can’t have fol
My parents gave me a fondue pot for Christmas. (Nice, aren’t they!) I’ve been having a great time trying out recipes for it, and have been through several versions of chocolate fondue in my search for something with just the right consistency and sweetness. I am happy to report that the recipe I bro
I have to admit, sometimes when I am searching the vast internet (especially pinterest) for recipes, I am always baffled when I see a recipe for homemade candy bars. (Excepting these fabulous Homemade Peanut Butter Cups, which are truly to DIE for). Aside from the a fore mentioned pbcups, why spend
I made a batch of these fun lemon bon bons (to share with you) last week because it’s is summer and light little lemon treats were what I was craving. I love lemon, and so do my kids and apparently so does the herd of teenagers my daughter had invited to “hang out” in my basement at the time of the
I know it’s Monday morning, and a creamy chocolate dip covered in toasted marshmallows is most likely the last thing on your mind. Monday just calls for healthy choices, carrot sticks and a trip to the gym…doesn’t it?
However, I also know that many, many of you sent your kids off to the first day
This might be the easiest candy you will ever make. It’s MUCH easier than Homemade Caramels and more simple than regular English Toffee. No need to stand at the stove and stir and you don’t need a candy thermometer! It’s also made with a very short list of ingredients, most of which I would bet m
I have no doubt that many of you have made Oreo Bon Bons in the past, am I right? (Click here to find the recipe). They are so easy and I haven’t ever met a soul who doesn’t love them. I noticed my friend Tina at Mommy’s Kitchen had a Gingerbread version on her blog. They sounded so yummy, I figure
So, I am going to wager this isn’t the first time you’ve heard of this recipe. Am I right? Someone may have left a bag full on your doorstep last Christmas, or maybe your sister made it for a Girls Night Out. Perhaps your pretty Mother In Law brought it along to your family reunion? It’s one
Don’t look now.
But it’s Friday.
That just feels good, don’t you think?
Because, I’m sure you don’t have one earthly

with your feet up and read a good book, right?
A couple of weeks ago we had several couples over for a fun game night. My friend Heather brought along the most decadent, heavenly chocolate chex mix I have ever in my life witnessed. The stuff was loaded with all kinds of delicious goodies. We were all dying over it! I couldn’t help but grab the r
These bon bons are fabulous and VERY….did you get that, VVVEEERRRYYY easy. They can be prepared way ahead of time, and then kept in the fridge or freezer, until you are ready to serve them up or send them out on a great treat plate to your neighbors. They taste fabulous! These bon bons are worth

These peanut butter cups are seriously one of my favorite treats ever. They are pretty simple to make and can EASILY be made in a pan instead of in individual cups (which is a huge time saver). They also freeze super well so you can make them in advance, which is also a bonus.
So, I couldn’t have a whole series of

Nor could I let the opportunity to make something with
peanut butter and chocolate pass me by.

Every year, on Christmas Day, my brothers and sisters and I (and our families, of course) find ourselves gathered at my parents house. (12 adults and 16 kids, good glory!) We laugh and joke and talk about what went down in our respective homes on Christmas morning. How late were people up wrapp
This Halloween season I wanted to post a treat that would be simple to make, easy to store, great to give away, and yummy to munch on. A chose a Halloween Munch Mix that is both sweet and a little bit salty, because that is such a nice combination. Wouldn’t you agree? Sweet, salty, crunchy and caram
