The Winner and A Wood Floor

The Winner of the Lawry’s Seasoning and Bakeware Giveaway is Jill
who said

“Waffles and scrambled eggs for a quick dinner. The way I figure it, I deserve to win most of all, because I shattered my pan just like that when I made your Fluffy Dinner Rolls and then accidentally turned the burner on under the cooling pan!”

Thanks for entering everyone. I had a great time reading your easy dinner ideas. I have a lot of great giveaways in the works this coming month. I’ll also begin posting my Thanksgiving Recipes this next week. Should be a lot of fun!

We have been under a little bit of construction for the past few weeks. Under, in the middle and on top of construction. Just a little bit of move around, re-arrange, and open up the spaces. Why would we do such a thing? Well. It’s the darndest thing, but wouldn’t you know it. My kids keep getting taller and bigger and taking up more space. The space they want to frequent, most frequently? You guessed it. The kitchen. We need a little more elbow room in there!

Several weeks ago MyHandsomeHusband, my TeenSonMark and I put in a wood floor. All in an effort to extend our kitchen. (Yes….for more elbow room.)
The Family Room….soon to become The Dining Room.

A little bit of mix and match.

“Mix and Match” along with a lot of loud nailing and hammering.

Little bit of “before”….

Little bit of “after”….
And there you have it.
Now we can add more counter space in the kitchen.
Just imagine the mess I’ll be able to make now.
Shhhhh….
Let’s just keep that last little comment to ourselves.
There are some people living in this house that LOVE CLEAN.
CLEAN LOVIN’ people who are very patient with
my frequently
messy
kitchen.

Patience.

It’s a virtue, you know.
He’s got a lot of them.

The floor is gorgeous! We have been remodeling our house so I know how much hard work goes into wood floors! Love it!

He!He!He! The why men get married…so they can learn patience (and with any luck someone will feed them and wash their undies)! Don't you hate it when you start feeling growing pains? When did all those sweet little babies start growing into tweens and teens? Dear Hubby and I are discussing a similar transformation at our house (but it's going to require adding a room…scary thought). I do love your transformation!I love the flooring you picked out! A bigger kitchen is a glorious thing (I guess, the kitchen really is the heart of the home)!

When I originally cmnteomed I clicked the Notify me when new comments are added checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Cheers!

Anonymous,
Thanks for your kind words! The wall is painted. My husband did some kind of Faux painting on it several years ago.
Have a good one!

That’s a great work, I really liked the way wood has been arranged on the floor.

Thank you,
