Congratulations!

Love me a good glass of Orange Julius.
Frothy…
Sweet….
A little bit tangy…
Morning breakfast drink of wonder.
I think your kids will like it.
I think your husband or wife will like it.
The mailman…the UPS guy….your aerobics instructor…
You might be tempted to run around town this morning
in your bathrobe
with your blender full of Orange Julius,
just offering it to anyone you see.
Because you are so very nice like that!
So willing to share a bit of sunshine with those that cross your path on a Friday morning, aren’t you?
I hope I see you at Walmart with your Orange Julius in tow.
Because
love
me
good
glass
of
Orange
Julius.

Frothy, sweet, tangy…..morning breakfast drink of wonder.
And because I get a real kick out of seeing people at Walmart in their bathrobe….
Orange Julius
Time: 5 minutes
Yield: about 4 Cups
Recipe from Paul Mayne
6 ounces frozen orange juice
1 C water
1 C milk
1/4 C powdered sugar
1/4 C sugar
1 t vanilla
8-9 ice cubes

1. Open up your frozen OJ….
scoop out 6 ounces worth and put it in your blender.
2. Pour in some cold water
some nice cold milk….
the powdered sugar….
regular sugar…
and vanilla.
3. Put the lid on the blender and give the old girl a whirl. Let her do her blending business for about 2 minutes.
4. Pour the ice cubes into the blender, place the lid back on and blend just until the ice cubes are broken up.
Serve and enjoy!

What is it with the whole slipper/pjs/bathrobe thing? I freely admit to carpooling in my pjs and slippers, but you wouldn't catch me dead shopping in wm that way!

As for your Orange Julius – YUM! I tried a recipe recently, but it was too bitter for me… this looks much better so I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Looks great! How would you change the recipe if you could not get the orange juice as a concentrate, only the juice?

I can attest to the mailman loving it. It's his specialty here at home (it's what my husband does for a living) 🙂

Whiting Family,
When searching out this recipe, I found several recipes online that used regular orange juice. You would need to use less milk and water. Good luck!

Hi. I am from the Dominican Republic and this is one of our favorite drinks. We call it: “Mori Soñando” which means: I Died Dreaming” or to die in a dream… I know… it sounds weird but I guess that's our way to say it's to die for!! sooo good!!! The only difference is that we like to use evaporated milk which makes it creamier and regular sugar. Also, instead of using the blender, we make it “on the rocks” with ice cubes. First, we mix the OJ with the sugar, vanilla and the ice cubes and stir to mix well and to make it really cold before adding the milk (so it won't curdle)then we add the evaporated milk. It's really to die for!! hmm You must try it!!

I am a retired Family and Consumer Science teacher, and my basic classes loved making this recipe. It is wonderful with a banana thrown in with it, or more kids liked it made with grape juice instead of orange. One of my favorites is to make it with lemonade concentrate – nice and tart! It's also great made with frozen fruit, such as strawberries or peaches.
