A Birthday and A Knife Set GIVEAWAY!

by Jamie
This Giveaway is now closed.

Two years ago…

on this very day.
I started stock piling recipes onto this little blogspot of mine.
I had NO idea what I was doing…
the Internet is a tricky beast to maneuver you know!
What with HTM…L? is it?
And hyperlinks and social media and page ranks and how do I even add a link to a post and what about making a little money and
how do you make a food blog work and
how do I make my pictures more appealing and
who can I tell about my blog and
will people use it and
will people like it
…and all of that kind of stuff was
tumbling around through my noggin for a good long while.
Still is, if you want to know the truth!

And now, with two years under my belt
I feel like I have learned a thing or two,
maybe even two and a half!

And I’ve come to the realization that there are a few things about this food blogging business that I know, for sure.
Here they are.

love
writing
this
blog.
I love cooking for this blog.
I love thinking about what to cook.
I love that you show up to read it!
I love to hear about your cooking successes!

And the VERY most important thing I’ve learned?
This blog would be pretty lame with out you.
Seriously.
It would just be a lonely old corner for me and my butter and sugar.
And so today I wanted to say…
Thanks.
Thanks a bunch for reading this blog of mine, and for trying these recipes and for saying hello to me at the grocery store and for telling your sister about my site and for bearing with an occasional mis-spelled word and for leaving a little comment love and
for just being so all around great.

You’ve made it possible for me to have a job that I love.
And in this day and age…
loving the job you have
is a luxury one should never take for granted.

To show my appreciation…I bought some knives for you.
Ok, not really for all of you.
If I had Oprah’s bank account….I would!

But for TWO of you!
This is the knife set that I use everyday in my kitchen.
I love it to pieces…don’t know what I’d do without it.
It may not be the most glamorous of knife sets…
but it makes cutting and cooking in the kitchen
a whole lot easier.
To enter this giveaway…I’m hoping you’ll give me a little feedback.
All you have to do is tell me what you’d like to see more of on this site. More Easy Dinner Recipes, Bread Recipes, Dessert Recipes, Cookie Recipes, Side Dishes, Salad Recipes, Potluck Dishes, Cute Recipes, Soup Recipes, Recipes for Kids….
whatever you would like to see more of….
I’d sure like to hear about it.
Please leave your email address
with your comment.
The Giveaway will be open until Thursday at midnight,
two lucky winners to be announced on Friday morning.

Thanks for dropping by,
I love ya to pieces
and have a great day!

PS….next week I’ll be posting a new recipe every day.
I’ve got a lot of great things in store for you!
Hope to see you then.
🙂  🙂  🙂

I love this blog so much and I would even love it more if there were more recipes for crafty cookers… aka children! More fun recipes that kids would like to help make and enjoy eating after. Happy 2nd Birthday! You do an amazing job!!!

Being a new mother, dinner sometimes takes the back burner… literally. I LOVE to cook, but it's finding the time and also being able to think straight long enough to remember/find a recipe. I love easy dinners! I would love to see more of those please! 🙂

I really enjoy this blog…
Right now I think the things I need most are simple things – particularly recipes I can cook one-handed! I just had surgery on my dominant hand and am not able to use it much…
For the rest of my life, after my arm heals, I'd love to have more baking recipes! I'm kind of obsessed with bundt cakes at the moment…but I bake lots of stuff!

You know, Jaime, you are doing such a great job on here that pretty much anything you post is exactly what I want at the time you post it. However, if you'd like to do more salads and salad dressings I wouldn't complain.

This may have accidentally posted twice (sorry). Your blog is awesome! I think kids' lunchbox ideas would be great. I'm sure my kids would appreciate anything besides the daily sandwich they've been finding in their boxes 🙂

Congrats on 2 years! I have used quite a few of your recipes, all to great success! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and sense of humor and personality with us! Two things I would love more of: meals without meat and salads. I read through the comments, and the idea of different lunchbox ideas was fantastic!

You do a great job on this blog!! I come here first when looking for a recipe and usually find something great. I don't know what I'd like to see more of, maybe side dishes or breakfast ideas. Soups for winter?

Happy Birthday best little cooking blog! I love all your recipes and your funny little posts. They always make me smile. I've tried a lot of your recipes and they never let me down. Thank you so much for all your hard work! 🙂
The only thing I can think of that I might want more of is vegetable side dishes. For some reason those are a challenge for me to come up with and I get tired of plain ol' veggies. I'd love some new ideas!

Love your blog. I have many friends and family who are now followers. I guess I am always on the lookout for more dinner recipes. Don't get me wrong I am always trying a new dessert recipe, but I love the simple, quick and easy dinner recipes that I can add to my regular rotation of meals that we love. I also love trying new side dishes to add to our meals also. You do such a good job of posting something for everyone – kids, quick and easy for moms and delicious for everyone. Keep up the good work! themoonmom at hotmail dot com

I don't know what I'd like to see more of, there are already so many recipes that I haven't tried. Maybe a few more ways to use food storage items. I know you grind your own wheat too, maybe a few step by steps on that and how to use it in recipes.

Thank you! I have LOVED your blog… You have helped me more than you will know! I would love to see some diabetic recipes that kids would like. It's hard to find things to make that aren't bland and boring.
Thank you for all you have done!

I would love to see more quick easy dinner recipes or the type of meal you might take in to a neighbor. Thanks for such a great recipe blog! Thanks! Lindsey ([email protected])

I love your Blog!!! It is the only food blog I have stayed with continuously. I just hit forty and decided to bring a brand new “muffin top” into the forties with me. So I am trying really hard to leave it behind. I have made everyone of your “healthy” dishes about a bajillion times and love them. I would love to see a few more for the sake of my husband and children who keep saying “this again”

First of all dear cuz, I want to say that your blog is my “go-to” for anything that I need a little extra cooking inspiration for (i.e. monthly Relief Society recipe exchange that's coming up on Tuesday -topic this month: crock pot dishes). That being said, I have forced my family over the last couple of months into going grain free, all-natural, lots of meat, lots of meat, and lots of veggies. And I know many, many others out there who have done the same. I would love to ask you for a grain-free baking category added to the blog where coconut flour and almond flour are substituted for wheat flour. It's a challenge (believe me, I thought I was a pretty skilled baker until I tried these new ingredients), but I can't think of anyone who could tackle it better! Happy Birthday to your blog 🙂 Ann Marie

My whole family loves your blog. There hasn't been a single recipe that they didn't flip over. I would love to see more holiday themed food ideas like Easter, St. Patrick's Day, and 4th of July. I like to make fun treats or dinners for holidays but can never think of what to make.

I don't know what I would like to see more of, I haven't even made it through my list of things to make from your blog yet! I think you have a really great variety, so the sugar freak in me would say desserts, but really, I love most of what you post, so I'll take anything!

I would love to see recipes that can be doubled and eat not freeze for later…also crock pot recipes. With such busy lives, but still knowing the importance of family meal times, anything to simplify this is needed!!!

I've always thought you had a pretty balance of recipes. I wouldn't mind more side dishes – seems like I often struggle with sides. I'd also love to see crockpot dishes. I love using my crockpot and have one day a week I almost use it but I'm running out of ideas! Love your blog. Thanks for the great recipes!

I absolutely LOVE your recipes!! Several of them are my go-to recipes! So, first, thanks for what you do! 🙂

The only thing I'd like to see more is the nutritional info for the recipes. I know there are a lot of us that either count calories, or have to watch certain aspects, so it would just make it easier… probably not for you though! 🙂
