{Giveaway} $100 Amazon Gift Card and Barilla Whole Grain Pasta Review

by Jamie

A couple of weeks ago I received a nice package in the mail. Inside were several boxes of Barilla® Whole Grain Pasta and a charge to use the pasta in some of my favorite recipes. Would my family like it, would we enjoy the added health benefits?

I made the pasta.

I was very surprised at how quickly the pasta cooked. It took much less time than other whole grain pastas I have tried in the past. I used it in one of my all time favorite recipes, Teriyaki Chicken and Noodle Bowls. The flavor was great! It wasn’t at all heavy and overly grainy. It was different than white pasta in texture, but I found it to be a nice change and added a little bit a variety to the dish.

Did my family like it…you are most certainly wondering.

We eat whole grain pasta around here only on occasion, as I’m generally met with a bit of grumbling when I make it. Let it be known, there was no grumbling when I served them Barilla® Whole Grain pasta. They all enjoyed it, for which I was grateful! I am always looking for ways to include more whole grains, and as it turns out Barilla® Whole Grain pasta is a great way to do it.

Did you know Barilla® Whole Grain pasta is made with 51% whole wheat? It’s an excellent source of fiber, delivering three times the fiber of regular pasta. There is also a taste guarantee. If you try one of the Barilla® Whole Grain Pastas and don’t like it, you can get a free box of Barilla® regular pasta. Isn’t that nice?

They have also made it easy to conquer the dinner time quest with wonderful meal ideas you can access at TryBarillaWholeGrain.com.

Barilla® Whole Grain Pasta, my friends. I recommend it and am eager to try it in more of my recipes. Great taste and the peace of mind that comes from knowing I’ve made something wonderful AND healthy for my family. You can’t beat that.

Barilla® and BlogHer have generously offered to give one of you lucky readers a $100 Amazon gift card. To be entered for a chance to win, just leave me a comment telling me what you love about Barilla® Whole Grain.

I love Barilla whole grain because without the whole grain, pasta isn't that healthy for you. But I LOVE it. So I can feel a little bit better about eating pasta if I use Barilla whole grain,

I love Barilla Whole Grain pasta because it is whole grain and not made from bleach flour. More whole grains means more fiber and more nutrition.

I love regular Barilla pasta but haven't tried the whole grain varieties–yet. I like the idea that they taste great and are more healthy. Thanks!

I love that pasta can be healthier. Especially when you use red sauce, you can trick your kids that it isn't any different.

I just used this pasta last night! I love whole grain (but not whole wheat) pasta. The family always grumbles a bit though. I made one of our favorite pasta dishes and not a single complaint. Many even had seconds!

My kids don’t love whole wheat although I am trying to add much more of it in my recipes. Since they like their pasta dishes simple I love that Barilla whole grain pasta does not taste rubbery and overly “healthy” as my daughter puts it!
