If you missed the Butter Cream Chicken I posted yesterday, you may want to take a look. Comfort food, plain and simple. 🙂 Now let’s chat about The Olive Garden, shall we?
I love Olive Garden.

And I don’t say this lightly. It really is one of my very favorite restaurants, always has been. The fresh breadsticks win me over ever time. Dip those babies into a steaming hot plate of Chicken and Shrimp Carbonera and life is a beautiful thing, I tell you.

I recently had the opportunity to eat at good old Olive Garden with my family. My husband and I eat there about once a month with friends, but we’ve never taken ALL of our kids to eat there together. Have I mentioned I have just under five thousand children? Ok…not really. Just 5. It seems like five thousand sometimes, alright?
We had a great time at dinner. We were very well taken care of; the staff there is so friendly and attentive. Our drinks were always filled, the meal was presented in a timely fashion, and no one asked me to do the dishes. Come to think of it, they never ask me to do the dishes.
No wonder I like it so much.

Olive Garden is running a great special right now through March 18th. You can get a 3 Course Italian Dinner for $12.95. It comes with all-you-can-eat Breadsticks, Soup or Salad, one of five new entrees, and one of five Dolcini desserts. That’s a lot of food for the price, my friends.

The portion sizes were very large; we ended up taking a lot of it home and had it for lunch the next day. My little boys ordered from the kid’s menu, and also had plenty to take home for later. That means not only were we fed for two meals, but I got to skip out on dish doing, twice.
The food was absolutely wonderful. All in attendance gave it two thumbs up. I especially recommend the Creamy Parmesan Portobello Mushroom Fettuccine as well as the Limoncello Mousse. Pure bliss. Loved every single bite.

  1. I loved the Chicken Con Broccoli at the Olive Garden. But they do not have it any more. Olive garden is my favorite restaurant too! But honestly… I have never eaten anything I did not love at the Olive Garden. Its kind of sad. My parents wanted to take me there when I graduated high school. But I threw a fit and so they took me somewhere else. They were really disappointed. See I had never been and because I didn't like onions, and she and told me they put them in the salad, I didn't want to go. (I love Onions now! eat them like apples)I have always felt bad about that. We do not get to go very often. Maybe once a year on our anniversary. If I win I will take my parents.

  2. I have eaten authentic italian food from Little Italy in Boston and NYC. I have yet to find anything like the Chicken Parmesan from Olive Garden!! Definitely my favorite restaurant. Amazing food and impeccable service!!!

  3. We went their last saturday and I had the smoked mozarella chicken and it was to die for. Everyone should try it, it was divine!!

  4. I LOVE the five cheese marinara at Olive Garden!!! But really you can't go wrong with Olive Garden!! I also really love manicotti!! Particularly the manicotti my awesome sister (that just so happens to run the best food blog on the internet!!) makes for me when I have a new baby!!!

  5. We recently ate at the Olive Garden and we tried the $12.95 special. I love Olive Garden, too, and am usually a creature of habit, ordering one of three dishes every time. But, I tried the Smoked Mozzarella Chicken special and it was outstanding! Love the little dessert choices, too!

  6. I don't think I've met an italian food I didn't like….but I'll say one of my favs is good old fashioned lasagna!

  7. Oh my goodness I really want to win that gift card. I always DROOL over all the desserts at Olive Garden but by the time I eat that to-die-for salad and my favorite, the chicken fettucine alfredo, I'm always too stuffed for dessert!
