Boy, do I have an easy, summer friendly, keep your house cool, kid friendly kind of recipe for you today. Because I happen to know you like that kind of thing, don’t you. Me too. You and I have a lot in common.
How nice.
Did you know, that Baked Potatoes can be made in the crock pot. It’s true. I totally tried it, and it works like a dream. Keeps the house nice and cool. Cooks while you are busy doing other things like passing out otter pops to the kids on your block, driving your kids to the pool, weeding your garden, cutting up juicy watermelons…and such.
Make a tasty cheddar sauce to pour over your potatoes and you have a nice little meal on your hands. These would, or course, also be great as a side dish.
Hope you love them!
1 bunch broccoli
2 T water

This looks and sounds amazing! Even better that they’re in thr crock pot. Mmmm. Hubby hates broccoli and says this looks great and would love to try it. What do you recommend with it to make a meal?
This looks yummy! I am hosting a Christmas party and am doing a baked potato bar. After the sauce is made could I put it and the broccoli in a crock pot to keep it warm do you think? I will be making probably a whole crock pot’s worth of the stuff. Thanks for the recipe!

I am wondering the same thing as Susan. Would the broccoli get mushy or overcooked if it was combined with the cheese and kept in a crock pot all together on warm?
Jennifer and Susan,
The cheese sauce would be fine in a crock pot, however make sure that it is only on a warm setting. If the cheese gets cooked too long it will start to curdle. Good luck! Hope it works out well for you. 🙂

Do you have to add water to the crock pot to cook them? If so, how much? Thanks in advance..

Do the potatoes taste as baked potatoes or have more of a steamed taste. Why put the foil on them? I have left several comments on your blog and have never received a reply. Is it my commuter?
