{GIVEAWAY} Our Best Bites Savoring The Seasons Cookbook

by Jamie

I wanted to tell you about a great new cookbook out on the market this week.

I bet some of you even know about it already, am I right? Sara and Kate from the blog
Our Best Bites (pictured right and bottom) have just published another wonderful cookbook full of all kinds of beautiful, family friendly, ooey gooey, delicious recipes. I was able to attend their book signing yesterday with a bunch of other Utah bloggers. It was great to see some familiar blogging faces and fun to meet a few new ones. 🙂

Did I lie about the pretty recipes here?

The book is great!

These two ladies are a real class act.

Would you like a copy? I would love to give one to two of you dear readers.

To enter the giveaway just leave me a comment below telling me your favorite fall time activity. Jumping in the leaves, eating a crisp apple…picking a pumpkin or two? Baking….ah the baking. Fall is a pretty great time to be alive, agreed? I’d love to hear how you enjoy it. One entry per person, please. Giveaway ends on Thursday September 20th, winners announced on Friday September 21st.

Good luck and have a good one. 🙂

Living on the Gulf Coast, we don’t really get much of a Fall (at least nothing anything like what most of the country experiences), but I still love it! My favorite activity (besides eating all the yummy baked goods) is sitting on the front porch in the mornings to drink my coffee. After a long summer of hot, humid mornings, there’s nothing like walking outside to a crisp 50 degree morning! Still waiting on that by the way…

I love to rake the leaves and watch the dogs run through them. They just wait for the piles to get big enough and the plow right through them. Such a beautiful time of year with the changing colors and cool crisp air.

Fall is my favorite time of the year. My family goes on a “shoot” to capture the beautiful fall colors. The cooler weather means more baking. The smell of bread and apple pie can’t be beat.

Living in Ohio is great in the fall! My favorite thing to do is to go to fall festivals and apple picking. I drag my husband all over the state to do both! We take in the scenery of the different colors on the trees, the cool crisp air and the yummy goodies to eat. Fall is definitely our favorite season!

Fall is my favorite time of the year, the cooler weather, the changing colors of the leaves, the pumpkin patch and getting to leave the windows open to get all that fresh air, especially after all the hot weather we have had this summer.

Living in Texas, I love autumn because it gets a little cooler outside. I also love when the trees leaves change colors. One of my favorite fall activities is going to the Texas Renaissance Festival. The festival starts in October and goes on every weekend until after Thanksgiving. I also love recipes containing pumpkin. My favorite recipe is pumpkin bread with pecans. I also love pumpkin ice cream. Happy Autumn to you!

I love me some baking! During the summer I go on a “baking fast” because our house gets so dang hot I can’t afford to turn the oven on and raise the temperature several degrees {especially when I spend the whole summer being pregnant!}. So I don’t turn the oven on and I miss baking! As soon as the weather starts cooling down at the start of fall, I start baking up a storm {and probably gain about 10 pounds in the process 🙂 }. Ah, I love fall!

Reply
Jessica September 14, 2012 - 9:09 am

I love everything fall. I would have to say baking is my favorite thing to do though. It is so nice to be able to turn on the oven without heating up the house too much and having the smell of baked goods in the house.

I looooove to bake in the fall :). I’m always anxious for summer to end and the pumpkin pies and banana breads to make an appearance. Being 22 wks pregnant means I’m in the “I should bake 2 pumpkin pies and eat them both today” phase. Anyway, thanks for the entry in the giveaway 🙂 oh! And I love going to the apple orchards and getting fresh cider! So tasty!

My kids and grandkids and I love going up the canyon to have our favorite hamburger soup, rolls and pumpkin bars and to see the beautiful colored leaves.
It is one of our family traditions that started back when my kids were just little.
I LOVE fall and all that comes with it!

Rachel September 14, 2012 - 9:23 am

Isnt fall the best? I love the cool, crisp mornings and being nestled in my comfy bed with lots of blankets. But my favorite fall tradition happens on Halloween. We have our entire street and all of our family and friends over for dinner before the kids take off to trick-or-treat. We make the same thing every year: navajo tacos with homemade chilli and scones. There’s nothing better and it’s become a favorite tradition for all of us.
