Change on the Horizon

by Jamie

Hey there, everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend full of great food and wonderful company. 🙂

Today, I want to make you aware of some changes coming up this week here at Jamie Cooks It Up! For the past several months I have been working with a wonderful graphic designer (Pam Bowers of Canvas Sky Graphic Design). She has put together a darling, fun, clean new look for the blog that I love and am excited to share with you. More importantly than a new look,  she has developed a new Recipe Index page that should make it much easier for you all to find recipes on my site. There will also be a new and improved search bar! Thank you for your patience with the current search bar. The thing is a hunk of junk, to put it plainly. I can’t wait to get it out of here and have the new and improved version up and running. Out with the old, bring on the new.

Here is what you need to know for this weeks posting.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I will post a new recipe as usual.

Friday, the new design will be up front and center. However, there will be no new post until Monday. All of the recipes will still be here for your viewing pleasure (none of them are going anywhere) and the site is expected to continue running while we work (you will still be able to access the recipes), but  things might look a little bit goofy while everything gets put into its proper place. If you know that you will be needing a specific recipe after Wednesday, it may be a good idea to print it off to it is readily available when you need it, just in case it becomes difficult to access it while things are being shuffled around. I will be working hard through the weekend making sure everything gets organized and put in order. I am crossing my fingers and toes that all goes well! Everything should be up and running in a much improved way by the beginning of next week.

Monday, I will post a blog tour to show you all of the new features. 🙂

Next Tuesday I will have my Monthly Menu plan for you all, after that I will be back to my regular posting schedule.

Thank you in advance for your patience. I am really hoping these changes make the recipes much easier for you to access. That is my first and foremost concern. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the support you have given to me and this little old blog of mine. Thanks for coming here and making this food. 🙂 Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Have a great week!

Hi Jamie,

It’s Teri from the Attendance Office at Fort Herriman Middle. Just wandering if you would be interested in speaking at my daughter’s Super Saturday/Homemaking/Enrichment, sometime in November, not sure of the exact date. It sounds like they’d love to hear you speak to the entire group, possible cooking demo.

My daughter lives in Herriman, her name is Blair Huston.

My email is [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you, and just in case you haven’t heard, there are only SIX AND A HALF DAYS left of school.

Teri

Totally true!I, too, used to think people that ate ogarnic or snuffed at my name brand-filled shopping cart were the ones with issues. It’s hard to switch to the mindset that when you know where every ingredient is coming from, it makes so much more sense than factory products!I reposted this on my website and linked back.. hope you don’t mind!jenniferhudy.wordpress.com

Yay – so excited to see your new look! I made up a double-batch of your creamy baked macaroni and cheese for our memorial day block party. Since the weather was a little cloudy and chilly, I opted for warm comfort food rather than chilled pasta and boy, was it a hit!! I’ve been told by nearly all the neighbors that regardless of weather, I will be expected to make this for our 4th of July and Labor Day get-togethers as well. Another tried and true recipe thanks to you 🙂

I giggled when I saw this on FB we haven’t had a mcrvowaie for about a year. Ours broke and we never got around to replacing it. When we had the cash we were so used to doing without it, so ta-da. We only missed it the first few weeks.
