Spooky Halloween Monster Cookies

The other day while standing in line to check out at the grocery store, I spied a fun cookie decorating idea on the cover of a magazine. I thought my kids (and perhaps some of your kids, grandchildren or students) would get a kick out of making them. In my experience with young people, the instant you say “Do you small folks want to do a little project using candy and cookies?” the answer comes in an earth-shattering shout of “HooRaaaaaaah” and “Yesssssssssssss” ! At least that’s how it works at my house. 🙂

The thing I love about these fun cookies, is everything you need to make them is found on the grocery store shelf…all ready to be used.

What I am saying here, is this is a no-bake, no-measuring, no-cooking kind of project. Which is sometimes I nice thing, right?

Let’s make some fun, shall we!

1. Grab some fudge covered graham crackers…

and bit of chocolate frosting to use as glue.

Then decorate the fudge covered graham crackers however you would like. This fun licorice can be cut into any size.

You can use small or large oreo cookies to make eyes for your monsters. 🙂 Oooooo, spooky. Ever so spooky, man. I am shaking in the knees.

Taste a few of these while you work, ok? That makes the project all the more fun. Really. Would I lie to you?

You could make a cute little One-Eyed-Wonder! He looks happy, content even. Amazing, for a monster with only one port of vision. I love a monster with a happy attitude.

Hello Mr. Owl Wanna Be.

Wow!  This one is could double as Oscar The Grouch, wouldn’t you say? He was made, start to finish by my daughter Anna.  A clever one, she is.

How do you like this Fang Toothed Goober? That’s how I feel when I stub my toe, or when my I loose my wedding ring, or when I accidentally pour freshly made gravy down the sink on accident. My fangs really come out on those kind of days, guys. They really do.

Ingredients

• 1 package fudge covered graham cracker cookies
• 1 jar chocolate frosting
• 1 package twizzlers pull and peel licorice (we used green)
• 1 package mini oreo cookies
• 1 package regular sized oreo cookies
• 1 package m and m's
• 1 package candy corns

Instructions
