Today, because it’s Friday…and due to fact that Halloween was yesterday, I am thinking some of you may have blood-red face paint stuck in your bathroom sink, there might be a few burnt out jack o lanterns on your front porch, and you may or may not have consumed more chocolate than you had planned on. No? I guess it’s just me then. 🙂 In any event, the spooky holiday is over and I feel like talking about books rather than food. If you have a strange loathing for  books, then come and see my bright and early Monday morning, and we will discuss food in the form of my November Menu Plan. Deal?

For as long as I can remember I have loved books. It’s a little something my mother passed on to me, a hobby we share together I suppose you could say. (You can follow me on GOODREADS by clicking HERE, if you so choose). Books for children are especially fun, and I have a great one to share with you today.

I’m The Scariest Thing In The Jungle, written and illustrated by David Derrick Jr. is a darling children’s book with captivating illustrations and a fun story.

Scetch Page

Inside the front cover are sketches of all the different animals that are in the book. My kids had a great time searching for them throughout the story.

You can see MyLittleTwinBoyAaron here trying to copy the sketches. My kids love this book, as do I. I recommend it to any of you with children or grandchildren. It would make a great Chirstmas gift. 🙂 You can buy signed copies, with an original drawing, found HERE. Davids books are also available on Amazon and can be requested at most book stores.

  2. We love any of books by Mo Willems, especially the Pigeon books and Elephant and Piggie books. I think we check one of his books out everytime we go to the library.

  3. my eldest’s favorite was Mog the Forgetful Cat. my youngest two prefer the “Llama Llama” series. Personally, “The Monster at the End of This Book” starring my favorite Muppet Grover was a true winner!

  4. My favorite book would be “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. I purchase a copy for my son as a gift for his HS graduation he is in fourth grade now 🙂

  5. My favorite children’s book is “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore”. This book is a wonderful story for anyone, no matter what age you are. My son loves it just as much as I do!

  6. My favorite is Everybody Needs A Rock by Byrd Baylor. When I first read this book my little guy was so into picking up rocks and finding the special thing about each one. The book totally described my boy. And the illustrations are simple, yet interesting.
