Today, because it’s Friday…and due to fact that Halloween was yesterday, I am thinking some of you may have blood-red face paint stuck in your bathroom sink, there might be a few burnt out jack o lanterns on your front porch, and you may or may not have consumed more chocolate than you had planned on. No? I guess it’s just me then. 🙂 In any event, the spooky holiday is over and I feel like talking about books rather than food. For as long as I can remember I have loved books. It’s a little something my mother passed on to me, a hobby we share together I suppose you could say. (You can follow me on GOODREADS by clicking HERE, if you so choose). Books for children are especially fun, and I have a great one to share with you today.
I’m The Scariest Thing In The Jungle, written and illustrated by David Derrick Jr. is a darling children’s book with captivating illustrations and a fun story.
Inside the front cover are sketches of all the different animals that are in the book. My kids had a great time searching for them throughout the story.
You can see MyLittleTwinBoyAaron here trying to copy the sketches. My kids love this book, as do I. I recommend it to any of you with children or grandchildren. My favorite is “A Bad Case of Stripes”. I love the story and the pictures are gorgeous!
Sorry. My favorite children’s book is Molly’s Moe. I think it is out of print now. My grown daughters and I still say our brains are full of noodles when we forget something,
The Astonishing Secret of Awesome Man is a favorite around our house.
The Cat in the Hat was a favorite book for me to read in my preschool class. I would love to have this one to read to my Head Start class.
At our house we love one fish two fish, and the squeaky lion.
With 3 girls, ‘pinkalicious’ is a favorite.
We love the book, ” Llama Llama Red Pajama.”.
The Little Red Hen has always been a favorite. When my children were little I would buy them books rather than toys most of the time.
We have lots of favorites but tend towards the funny ones: Click, Clack Moo, Cows that Type and Snowmen at Night–in fact anything by the Buehners is great!
I LOVE children’s books! Last night I read “Fancy Nancy” to my 4 yr old while we cuddled after trick or treating, so that’s my current favorite.
