The Weekend Report: Mother Daughter Spa Day Activity

by Jamie

As part of my membership in the LDS church, I work with the 8-11 year old girls in an organization called Faith In God. We have activities twice a month where the girls learn homemaking skills, study gospel principles, build friendships with each other and have fun. 🙂 I love working with the girls and leaders in my ward. We have a great time together. A couple of weeks ago we hosted a Mother Daughter Spa Day Activity.

We  put the girls to work making these cute tissue paper flowers for decorations. You can see a full tutorial on how to make these cute flowers HERE.

My friend Sydnee put together this home made foot and hand scrub for us all to use during the activity. Wondering what might be in it? Brown Sugar, Almond Extract and Canola Oil. It smelled like heaven. 🙂

The girls decorated some little baby food jars to put the scrub in.

Then each mother/daughter pair took turns soaking feet…

and administering a foot scrub/massage.

Fun!

There were all kinds of pretty polish to use after the foot scrubs were complete.

Fun! Every Mama wants to be pampered now and then right?

We also had stations set up to soak and massage hands…

and paint fingernails, of course. 🙂

For refreshments we served a Crepe Bar.

Next week I will be sharing a few of these recipes, as well as some details on how to organize and put a crepe bar together. My Monthly Menu Plan will be up for you on Monday, and then we will talk crepes. Sound good?

Yours truly and my sweet daughter Emily. This was her last Faith In God Activity…she is turning 12 in just a few short days. How is it that time goes by so quickly?

Too funny! I think I just happened to see one of your recipes on FB that someone posted and signed up on your blog. I too am LDS! How cool is that!
