THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
The weather is starting to warm up here in Utah, but back a few weeks ago this is what it looked like at Bear Lake. It was like an eternal winter. Truly. I couldn’t imagine where all that snow would go.
We invited up a few of our close friends to hang out with us. We hid out in the warm cabin while buckets and buckets of snow came showering down.
I could swear there was at least 4 feet of fresh snow.
We didn’t mind a bit. We chatted, and visited…played some cards…
indulged in a few delicious confections. Might I recommend this fabulous Almond Joy creamer. Please pour it in a mug of hot chocolate at your earliest convenience. It’s heaven in a cup, baby.
After we had been inside for quite a while, a few choice individuals couldn’t stand it one minute longer. The eternal winter was closing in, man. This particular wild cat threw off her comfy socks, rolled up her pjs and just Let It Go, baby. Can you believe all that deep snow out there!
She couldn’t believe it either. For The First Time In Forever, she ran around in circles with snow up to her knee caps.
And then, my guests started dropping like flies. Out into the snow they went…
running and jumping around like they didn’t have a care in the world. I may or may not have passed out on the living room floor from laughing so hard. Now, I don’t know much, but there is one thing I know for sure…I always want to have wonderful people around to laugh at with. That familiar saying about laughter being the best medicine? It rings true for me.
Running through the snow in your bare feet is funny to watch, but it turns out to be a little more pleasant when you put your shoes and socks back on. Note to self.
Cool cat.
Whoa, who let that girl with the yellow hat out of her cage? The hat was 25 cents at Walmart, okay. I just could pass it up. Now that I see it from a distance and on my actual head, I may never wear it again. Another note to self.
We did a bit of sledding…
had a snowball fight or two…
or three…
and then we played in the snow until it was dark outside and we felt like drinking some more Almond Joy Creamer Hot Chocolate. There was a lot of laughter to be had right in the middle of the FROZEN winter. Who would have thought. It was one of my best winter memories, for sure.
We have been loving Disney’s FROZEN soundtrack all winter long, have you heard it? I hate to admit it, but sometimes I listen to it when my kids aren’t around. I know, juvenile isn’t it? I can’t help myself. It puts a big old smile on my face and quite frankly I feel proud to be walking the same planet as the people who are talented enough to write something so clever and endearing. Love it. There are a lot of great messages there.
FROZEN is coming out on DVD this week, on March 18th I believe. I would love to give 3 of you a DVD/SOUNDTRACK combo pack. All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of the things you loved doing this past winter.
Before you know it, spring will be showing her pretty face…
…and that is a beautiful thing in its own right.
The Giveaway will be open until Tuesday March 18th at midnight. Winners will be announced and contacted on Wednesday March 19th, bright and early with the sunshine.
DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post, just a little gift from me to you.

I loved watching my German shepherd puppy play in the snow.
I enjoyed a few evening walks with my family. I decided the cold and snow shouldn’t stop us, so we put on our coats and boots and gloves and went for a stroll in the cold moonlight. Very invigorating and peaceful!
I just love being in my nice warm house with my coconut hot chocolate watching my kids have fun in the snow. They all got new sleds for Christmas and they played with them for hours. 🙂
We had enough snow to make snow cream for the first time in YEARS! It was delicious!
We live in SC where we are proud to say that some people wear shorts and flip flops year round. (Not me, of course but SOME people!) a cold day can dip into the 30’s. This winter, though we had the gift of not one but two snow events! Great fun! We may be in school until the 4th of July making up missed days, but it was a treat to have some winter fun!
My son went sledding for the first time, and it was wonderful to watch him enjoy himself in the snow!
I loved making tons of soups and stews.
I loved that I got to use my new boots from L.L. Bean (a lot!)Ready to try a new season now please. Thanks for the chance to win!
I enjoyed having my first baby this winter and spending lots of time snuggled up inside nursing my girl!
We enjoyed teaching our kids to ski and ice skate!
My kids wished there was more snow, but the two storms we had were enough for me. They wanted to go sledding even after the snow had melted to we drove up to the mountains and had fun. I prefer staying inside drinking hot chocolate, doing puzzles and playing games.
I enjoyed the pleasant Las Vegas weather. Parks with the kids, stroller walks, and cool morning running.
We went tobogganing with the whole family :))
I’ve loved watching my kids pull each other on the little snowmobile for hours and hours!
My favorite part of this winter was any time I didn’t have any sick kids, which wasn’t a lot!! Please come spring!
Cooking comfort foods!!!
I’m not a winter girl. I spent lots of time online looking for warm getaways to escape to! Nothing beats a good laugh and it looks like you have awesome friends to hang with!
Sledding with my boys.
“Let it Go” to the end of my SIL’s ‘chemo treatments for breast cancer.
I asked my 11 year-old son this question and he said it was when he and his two brothers (yes,my other two sons) ran out into the snow without socks (sound familiar?!) to see who could stay out there the longest. Mind you–this happens regularly!
I loved spending Thanksgiving in a swimsuit on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
One thing I really enjoyed this winter is watching my three little girls faces light up when we get ready to go play in the snow… This is the first year all my girls were old enough to enjoy the snow.. They had so much fun it felt like we were out there for hours…. And like always we make the percent snowman….
Down in Texas, we don’t get much of a winter (except for this year). So my favorite part of this winter was I actually got to enjoy the cooler weather, being able to wear a coat (versus a light jacket) and wearing winter clothes. Thank you for the chance to win this great prize.
This was a difficult winter for me here in Wisconsin but I do like watching my kids sled.
My favorite thing is watching my kids play in the snow and make snow angels. We didn’t get much snow around here for that this year, but they were able to enjoy it a few times!
My favorite thing this winter was taking my 18 month old out to play in the snow for the first time with her big sister and big brother. She loved it!!
This winter was so mild it only snowed twice. We usually have tons, but alas there was really only 1 day that was good for sledding. It was still bitter cold though, so it was the winter of the table top board game at our house. We discovered about 10 table top games that we can play together as a family and have had fun with each other all winter. We look forward to spending time in the warmth of spring, but we will continue with the family game days.
Taking my four year old to see Frozen at the movie theater. She’s been singing the songs every day since.
I loved being able to stay inside and snuggle my sweet baby this winter rather than driving around in the scary snow.
I loved making lots of soup from the Jamie Cooks It Up website to help keep my family warm during our very long, very cold Minnesota winter.
We loved sledding!!! Here in ohio, winter is an eternity! So we get plenty of chances to go 🙂
I’m not a huge snow person when I have to go out in it, but I loved watching it come down in my cozy warm house with a cup of coffee! That’s what I love about winter! 🙂
I am a Southern girl so we do not really see a lot of snow around here but we actually did see a small amount this year. My favorite memory is spending the snow day at home with my little boys.
Hello All!
I love snuggling up with a book while the wood stove is going. I also love to bake and spend time with family. It is the best!
Thank you,
Jennifer
I loved all the baking and comforting casseroles we made this winter. Soon, it will be too hot to want to bake anything in a hot oven. I better get something in the oven stat! I’m heading over to your baking section…
I enjoyed hibernating. Not going anywhere, just staying home with my husband and two best friends, Bud and Mollie.
HI
I loved your snow pictures. I would love to be there. I love the snow and spent a lot of time with my granddaughters 7 – 5 and 1 (the 3 month old was too young) playing outside. We had close to 90 inches of snow in Ohio this year. We went sledding, snowmobiling, and even ice fishing. Not too many snowmen this year – the snow just would not pack. Also loved those days when we could just cuddle up at home as my granddaughter would say – let’s get cozy grandma.
I loved curling up and watching movies with some freshly popped popcorn and hot chocolate!
I loved baking homemade bread. It always warms up the house and tastes soooo good!
Definitely sledding with my kids!!!
I enjoyed staying inside sewing warm handmade quilts, while the snow fell outside.
I enjoyed spending time with family during the winter break. Whether it was serving and shoveling snow, or playing outside, or even drinking warm cups of hot chocolate after a cold period outside!
I love cocoa–with roasted marshmallows. Can one ever have enough? I can’t. It keeps me from becoming FROZEN!!!
I loved watching my kids play in their homemade igloo.
I loved building a snow fort with my girls!
I totally enjoyed family fun days with my kids and grandkids. We would sled and play in the snow and come in and eat your italian tortelini soup and breadsticks or another of your soups. I have also found your blog this winter and have made so many recipes. Thank you, thank you!
i loved sitting right here, at my desk, and looking out the window and just watching the huge snowflakes float down…winters in pennsylvania are different than out west, and i loved almost every moment of it.
I loved taking my son on a train ride to Salt Lake City – going to Temple Square with him and my sister.
I loved sledding with my family and warming up with hot chocolate afterward!
One of the things we love doing (besides playing in the snow) is going to the movies. My 9 year old twins and I saw Frozen and loved it! “Let it go”
