THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
The weather is starting to warm up here in Utah, but back a few weeks ago this is what it looked like at Bear Lake. It was like an eternal winter. Truly. I couldn’t imagine where all that snow would go.
We invited up a few of our close friends to hang out with us. We hid out in the warm cabin while buckets and buckets of snow came showering down.
I could swear there was at least 4 feet of fresh snow.
We didn’t mind a bit. We chatted, and visited…played some cards…
indulged in a few delicious confections. Might I recommend this fabulous Almond Joy creamer. Please pour it in a mug of hot chocolate at your earliest convenience. It’s heaven in a cup, baby.
After we had been inside for quite a while, a few choice individuals couldn’t stand it one minute longer. The eternal winter was closing in, man. This particular wild cat threw off her comfy socks, rolled up her pjs and just Let It Go, baby. Can you believe all that deep snow out there!
She couldn’t believe it either. For The First Time In Forever, she ran around in circles with snow up to her knee caps.
And then, my guests started dropping like flies. Out into the snow they went…
running and jumping around like they didn’t have a care in the world. I may or may not have passed out on the living room floor from laughing so hard. Now, I don’t know much, but there is one thing I know for sure…I always want to have wonderful people around to laugh at with. That familiar saying about laughter being the best medicine? It rings true for me.
Running through the snow in your bare feet is funny to watch, but it turns out to be a little more pleasant when you put your shoes and socks back on. Note to self.
Cool cat.
Whoa, who let that girl with the yellow hat out of her cage? The hat was 25 cents at Walmart, okay. I just could pass it up. Now that I see it from a distance and on my actual head, I may never wear it again. Another note to self.
We did a bit of sledding…
had a snowball fight or two…
or three…
and then we played in the snow until it was dark outside and we felt like drinking some more Almond Joy Creamer Hot Chocolate. There was a lot of laughter to be had right in the middle of the FROZEN winter. Who would have thought. It was one of my best winter memories, for sure.
We have been loving Disney’s FROZEN soundtrack all winter long, have you heard it? I hate to admit it, but sometimes I listen to it when my kids aren’t around. I know, juvenile isn’t it? I can’t help myself. It puts a big old smile on my face and quite frankly I feel proud to be walking the same planet as the people who are talented enough to write something so clever and endearing. Love it. There are a lot of great messages there.
FROZEN is coming out on DVD this week, on March 18th I believe. I would love to give 3 of you a DVD/SOUNDTRACK combo pack. All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of the things you loved doing this past winter.
Before you know it, spring will be showing her pretty face…
…and that is a beautiful thing in its own right.
The Giveaway will be open until Tuesday March 18th at midnight. Winners will be announced and contacted on Wednesday March 19th, bright and early with the sunshine.
DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post, just a little gift from me to you.

Love having hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows by our fire!
My favorite memory was going sledding with my mom and taking hot chocolate and hot dogs
Staying inside and not having to drive in the snow : Best part of being retired 🙂
My favorite thing about winter was watching it on t.v. (We didn’t have a winter here in California)
We did a lot of reading around the fire this winter. My favorite!
Hot chocolate and Christmas lights with my family!
Sitting by the window, with a nice warm fire, enjoying a cup of white hot choclate ( they do make white you know)
looking at the blue blue sky and beautiful snow capped mountains. Also a good book to read,it REALLY is a wonderfull life!
My favorite memory this winter was playing in a record breaking snow here in St. George, Utah. We had 6 inches of snow, no where even close to the 1 inch record of 75 years. Now I am sad to see all the palm trees dead this spring while blossoms pop on the other trees. We loved watching the snow, but hope it doesn’t happen for 75 years again.
I love it when it rains in California. It finally feels a little like winter. I love wearing sweaters and sipping hot chocolate. I have memories of ice skating in my backyard growing up, that was amazing but a long time ago. We love Frozen and I listen to the music too, sometimes, all by myself.
We’ve had a rainy winter here in Washington. One of my favorite things has been spending time inside watching my 8 year old son really start to love reading! It’s been so fun!!
When we had an ice storm in TX. School was cancelled and my kids ran around playing outside in the “snow”, really it was a dusting, mostly frost and ice. It was so beautiful though, everything from the trees to the fence were encased in ice. Felt like we were living in our own ice palace 🙂
I tried cross country skiing for the first time this winter. It was so fun.
Liked seeing the picts of my bro & sister-in-law “frozen” @ your Bear Lake retreat!

I had a baby in November. I’ve been loving cuddle time with a new baby!
I loved being in the kitchen and cooking/baking all Winter! It seems like our lives are just too busy to do that during the Spring and Summer.
Christmas is always my favorite part of winter, and it was especially fun with my kids this year!
This winter, I loved spending time inside with my family playing games & staying toasty by the fire.
Loved watching the snow come down from the warmth of my home.
Loved watching 4 of my kids fall in love with the ski slopes this year. The Olympics helped!
Favorite part of this winter is cuddling up with my 3 boys (8, 4, 18months) and watching a movie while it was -40 (wind chill) outside.
I loved having homemade hot chocolate with marshmallow fluff waiting for my kids when they came in from sledding. Forget the powder mixes — there is nothing better (or easier) than the homemade version!!!
Well – I live in SC, so our winters are pretty darn mild. Our “big snow storm” of the year (which was supposed to be 4-6 inches) ended up being rain and icicles…it was pretty, but a limb fell and knocked the side mirror clean off my car! For a southern girl, this was rare weather for us – but I’m still bummed about no snow. However, we did have a fun winter – nothing special, but lots of nights watching movies curled up in front of our cute firelight space heater. Would love to win Frozen – my daughter would DIE with happiness, as she has been counting down the days til it comes out on DVD.
Love it when I huge snow storm comes and it is eerily quiet and almost warm and I can shovel the snow.
I loved being warm and cozy inside with my coffee while looking out at all that white snow and ice!
I love quilting all winter long!
Living in the South, we don’t see much snow. So when we did get some this winter, the smile and excitement on my daughter’s face was one in a million!
Learning to ski made this the best winter ever.
Snow shoeing!!
My daughters learned to ski this winter. The excitement and sense of accomplishment they had was the best thing that happened.
My favorite thing was going to Hawaii!
We don’t always get snow where we live but we did this year. We got to go sledding down a steep embankment beside a rural highway. It was fun. We followed it up with hot chocolate and marshmallows. It was a perfect day.
I’m loving your site! It seems that every recipe I try, comes out a winner. Thank you for such a great blog with wonderful recipes!
watching the kids play in the snow
I loved sleeping in and not worrying about yard work!
I loved how Winter has seemed to end, although I don’t know if I trust this early Spring we are having in Utah!
Had peppermint milkshakes from Chicfila and made candycane cookies!
Sitting by the fire!
6 inches of snow in North Alabama? What could be more fun than that? City shut down, but neighborhood building snowpersons (ha!) and igloos, snow cream in the freezer for those smoldering southern summer nights. Blessed beyond measure…
We have enjoyed skiing this winter.
lOVED THE WARM FLORIDA WEATHER THIS WINTER
I enjoyed taking pictures of the large ice cycles hanging outside the window.
I love being in a warm house while the snow falls outside. So peaceful and relaxing!
This year we loved watching the winter Olympics each night. Go USA!!!
We loved having family game night. Playing board games with everyone and no electronics!
My favorite winter memory was when we lived in Boston and I could go sledding for hours as a kid and never get bored. The snowsuit was always the most fun, getting into it then getting out of it while freezing cold. Then, head home for a big hot cup of cocoa and marshmallows that my mom had waiting for me.
Working from home due to school closures and getting extra time with my favorite boy! 😉
