The Weekend Report: When It Was Still FROZEN (GIVEAWAY)

The Weekend Report: When It Was Still FROZEN (GIVEAWAY)

The weather is starting to warm up here in Utah, but back a few weeks ago this is what it looked like at Bear Lake.  It was like an eternal winter. Truly. I couldn’t imagine where all that snow would go.

We invited up a few of our close friends to hang out with us. We hid out  in the warm cabin while buckets and buckets of snow came showering down.

I could swear there was at least 4 feet of fresh snow.

We didn’t mind a bit. We chatted, and visited…played some cards…

indulged in a few delicious confections. Might I recommend this  fabulous Almond Joy creamer. Please  pour it in a mug of  hot chocolate at your earliest convenience. It’s heaven in a cup, baby.

After we had been inside for quite a while, a few choice individuals couldn’t stand it one minute longer. The eternal winter was closing in, man.  This particular wild cat threw off her comfy socks, rolled up her pjs and just Let It Go, baby.  Can you believe all that deep snow out there!

She couldn’t believe it either. For The First Time In Forever, she ran around in circles with snow up to her knee caps.

And then, my guests started dropping like flies. Out into the snow they went…

running and jumping around like they didn’t have a care in the world. I may or may not have passed out on the living room floor from laughing so hard. Now, I don’t know much, but there is one thing I know for sure…I always want to have wonderful people around to laugh at with. That familiar saying  about laughter being the best medicine? It rings true for me.

Running through the snow in your bare feet is funny to watch, but it turns out to be a little more pleasant when you put your shoes and socks back on. Note to self.

Cool cat.

Whoa, who let that girl with the yellow hat out of her cage? The hat was 25 cents at Walmart, okay. I just could pass it up. Now that I see it from a distance and on my actual head, I may never wear it again. Another note to self.

We did a bit of sledding…

had a snowball fight or two…

or three…

and then we  played in the snow until it was dark outside and we felt like drinking some  more Almond Joy Creamer Hot Chocolate. There was a lot of laughter to be had right in the middle of the FROZEN winter. Who would have thought. It was one of my best winter memories, for sure.

We have been loving Disney’s  FROZEN soundtrack all winter long, have you heard it?  I hate to admit it, but sometimes I listen to it when my kids aren’t around. I know, juvenile isn’t it? I can’t help myself. It puts a big old smile on my face and quite frankly I feel proud to be walking the same planet as the people who are talented enough to write something so clever and endearing. Love it. There are a lot of great messages there.

FROZEN is coming out on DVD this week, on March 18th I believe.  I would love to give 3 of you a DVD/SOUNDTRACK combo pack. All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of the things you loved doing this past winter.

Before you know it, spring will be showing her pretty face…

…and that is a beautiful thing in its own right.

The Giveaway will be open until Tuesday March 18th at midnight. Winners will be announced and contacted on Wednesday March 19th, bright and early with the sunshine.

I rarely snows here in S. Louisiana, but this year it snowed a couple of times. I really enjoyed watching it fall and seeing it on the ground/rooftops.

We really loved watching the really cold glittery snow. Being disabled, we just don’t do winter sports anymore. We did enjoy some of the skating on TV and,of course curling.

I spent several weekends in snowy Syracuse,N.Y. Visiting with my two little grandaughters who entertained me by belting out ‘let it go’ and flinging their arms dramatically around at least 400 times a day! I must be the only person in the USA who hasn’t seen the movie. Please pick me !

I did not like this winter! And I live in the South…we are winter wimps. What I did like was making a big pot of your chicken gnocchi soup and watching it snow outside(a rarity here) when I didn’t have to drive into work.

My favorite thing this winter was getting to spend time with my sweet girl when we had snow days. We played Monopoly, watched movies, played Uno (which she beat me 10 games to 1)and did science experiments outside. We don’t get many snow days in TN, but this year my county had 5. Loved everyone of them! 🙂

We have had so many snow days here this winter – it seems like the eternal winter that never ends. Seriously, we even got snow today – on St. Patrick’s Day! I loved snuggling with my little ones by the fire, watching the snow fall outside. Or watching them sled down our hills (while I stay in the relative warmth of our home.):)

It doesn’t snow too much here in NC, but when it does, OH BOY!!! It’s like a national holiday!!! I love making homemade hot chocolate and then going out into the woods behind our home and just standing and listening to the sounds the woods make while the snow is falling!! It is SO peaceful!! I love your blog and your recipes are simply scrumptious!!!

This winter I loved getting away with friends for a weekend in the mountains. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much! Had a blast watching everyone try to sled on the ice topped snow. One teenager looked like a baby dear just learning to walk…one minute he’d be up, and the next minute down…arms and legs flailing about!

Here in SC, snow is something we don’t see very often. This year, it showed up TWICE! My older daughter spent three entire days outside playing in the snow…while I made sure that the hot chocolate was ready when she came back in.

Such a nice gift! 🙂 Thank you! Well, I’m a college student and even though I live in PA, we rarely get snow days. This year, we got one whole day off and all of my friends and I went sledding! Since I’m about to graduate, it felt amazing having a fun, youthful day and forget about all of my responsibilities.
