Loaded with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon and green onions, these savory waffles are a fun twist on the classic waffle. We eat them with a runny egg over the top and a side of the Sweet Potato Hash I posted earlier this week. They are light and fluffy on the inside with a nice crispy outside. My son Aaron would like me to tell you that they are “So, so good with syrup on top. Seriously.” There you have it. Savory and sweet, if that is your kind of thing. It’s Aaron’s. 😉
These fun waffles not only make a great breakfast but work fabulously well as a quick bread you can dip in soup (See, Cheese and Veggie Soup or Broccoli Cheese Soup, Hearty Beef Stew or even BBQ Chicken Chili). For a comprehensive list of all soup recipes click HERE. It is fall, my friends. Bring on the soup. (And these savory waffles!)
This is a fun recipe, gang. Hope some of you get a chance to try them!

They are great topped with a runny egg…
Yum!
…or with a side of Sweet Potato Hash.
This looks absolutely delicious, and so easy to make!!
I used 1/4 cup of bacon bits and added a couple dashes each of pepper, onion powder, & garlic powder. The texture is light and fluffy, almost eggy like a fluffy omelette. Quite enjoyable. Thank you
