Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies

by Jamie

The Holidays are upon us! Time to crack out your kitchen mixer and bake a batch of cookies…or two, or three. 🙂

I’ve brought along a brand new cookie recipe to share with you all today. These rich chocolaty cookies are chewy on the inside, are studded with white chocolate, milk chocolate and crushed up candy canes and have a fun Candy Cane Kiss placed right in the center. Make them for your next holiday party! I can’t wait to make them again, myself.

Enjoy!

Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour

48 cookies

Ingredients

1 C butter, softened
1 C white sugar
1 C dark brown sugar, packed
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 C flour
1 tsp soda
3/4 C cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 C milk chocolate chips
2 C white chocolate chips
1/2 C crushed candy canes (about 12 mini candy canes)
1 (10 ounce) bag candy cane kisses

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Into your stand mixer or large mixing bowl place the softened butter, white sugar and dark brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is well combined (about 2 minutes).
3. Add the eggs and beat for an additional 1 minute. Add the vanilla and beat just until it's mixed in.
4. In a separate bowl combine the flour, soda, cocoa and salt. Add it to the creamed mixture and mix until combined.
5. Add the milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and crushed candy canes. Mix just until combined.
6. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or just until the tops of the cookies are cracked. You want to be sure not to over bake here. The cookies will be super soft and chewy if they are underbaked just a bit. Remove the pans from the oven and allow them to continue cooking on the hot cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes.
7. Immediately press one candy cane kiss into each cookie, while it is still warm.
8. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
