THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

Today, I really REALLY wanted to post a fabulous new recipe for you all. That was my plan all week-long, you see. But as luck would have it, my good intentions were rudely interrupted by fact that my kitchen sink simply decided to come unglued from her usual spot and fell right out from under the counter-top leaving me with no running water (or sink!) in my kitchen and 500 dirty dishes just begging to be cleaned.

This is not a joke.

Would I lie to you?

No way, man. I would not.

Good times around here, my friends. After I washed the previously mentioned 500 dishes (give or take 450) in my bathtub during the late night hours, I had a good nights rest and woke up ready and willing to serve my family cheap, five dollar pizza for the duration my small kitchen crisis. (Which should be over in the next 24 hours or so. At least that was the good news given to me today by MyHandsomeHusband aka Repair Man of Wonder).

And so, dear readers, instead of a new recipe for you today I am giving away one of my favorite kitchen appliances of all time.

Isn’t she a beauty!

I would love to give one of you lucky readers a brand spanking new Ninja Kitchen System 1200 (BL700), complete with a small and large pitcher and many different cutting blades (including a whipping blade and dough hook).

I absolutely adore this contraption. I use it for all kinds of things, including smoothie making, chopping nuts, veggies, blending up graham cracker crumbs for crusts, making salad dressings, whipping cream, blending dips..etc, etc, etc…I have even used it in a pinch to make cookie dough and bread dough! Amazing, it is.

I use mine every day.

Just like I used to use my kitchen sink every day.

Until she went rogue on me. Dang thing. Hoping once she has been restored to her full glory, we can be friends again. She and I spend a lot of time together after all. 🙂

To enter the giveaway all you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of your kitchen mishaps. (Goodness knows we all have them!) Did you accidentally pour freshly made gravy down the sink? Did you burn your husbands birthday cake? Did your chicken soup boil over while you were eating chocolate and reading a great book?

I would love to hear your stories. Everyone needs a good laugh now and then, right! You may enter from now until Thursday March 6th. Winner will be announced and contacted on Friday March 7th.

Good luck, everyone!

  1. I was once making a cheese dip in the blender, while my new sister in law visited with me in the kitchen. I dumped all my ingredients in and turned on the blender, and had this aweful clanking in the blender. Stopped everything, poured out the contents in a bowl. That’s when I realized the little plastic lid that is supposed to be on top of the rubber lid had fallen off and was being ground into my appetizer…Ugh…so embarassing!

  2. I was assigned pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving with family in Idaho. It was gorgeous, complete with little leaves made from pie crust as a decoration. I babied that thing for the entire 3 hour drive. Then, just as we were turning onto their street, I accidentally stuck the heel of my foot right in the middle! It tasted so good though, we ended up just cutting out the middle and eating it anyway!!

  3. I once hosted a Pampered Chef party when my sister in law was starting out as a representative for that company. She asked me to demonstrate one of the knives and in front of a huge group of friends and family, I sliced off a good chunk of my finger. Had to leave the party for the ER. So embarrassing!!

  4. Oh man…our company had prizes at our last health fair, and the Ninja was the one I coveted!!!! Would LOVE to win this one!!!
Kitchen mishap – which one do you want. The time I lit the microwave on fire by hitting the cook instead of timer button? The time I lit my parents oven on fire Christmas morning cooking pull-apart bread – my dad had to use the extinguisher, so no bread for us. Or…the time I placed sweet potato peels down our disposal and clogged up the kitchen sink on Thanksgiving. LOL – I’m a disaster…what can I say? 🙂

  5. Last night I left the burner on and melted the plastic spoon onto the frying pan and set off the smoke alarm. Good times.

  6. I had just finished making my husbands birthday cake (ice cream cake) and set it on the counter. I turned around to get something and knocked his cake on the ground, it was everywhere. . . I felt like crying. But he was very good about it thank goodness ! 🙂

  7. I was baking some French Bread and poured cold water into my very hot glass pyrex pan in the oven, closed the oven door and the glass pan exploded everywhere! I don’t know where my brain was that day……:)
