A few years ago a dream of ours came true, and we were able to buy a cabin in Bear Lake, Idaho. To say we were thrilled would be a gross understatement. We’ve loved having this little slice of heaven and have used it as frequently as possible. It’s been a great way to build relationships with our family and friends; our time there is well spent. The cabin was built in 2006, and is in good repair. There is a lot of work to be done outside in the yard and we have been dreaming of different ways to landscape and make use of the space there, but everything on the inside is wonderful.

…except this lovely kitchen faucet. It may look fine…

but let me tell you. This silver-headed wonder really likes to spew water in a million different directions at any given time. Not my favorite faucet, to say the least. So, when BlogHer and Moen offered me the opportunity to install a new Moen faucet and write a post about it… well, I jumped at the chance. Out with the old, and in with the new.

MyHandsomeHusband is handy with projects like this, so when the faucet arrived we made a trip up to the lake and got to work.

He adjusted the plumbing…

took the old girl out…

and prepped the space for the new faucet.

Can I just tell you, Moen faucets are wonderful!

We opted to go with the Hensley model because I liked the look of it and wanted a faucet that has a pulldown head with adjustable spraying methods.

She looks good, yes?

And just look at that! She’s spraying in all the right directions. I dare say this is the best kitchen faucet I’ve ever had. The head pulls down easily and can be manipulated with no problems at all.

Love it.

An all-around good choice.

We are back in business. Oh, how I wish you could see the beautiful view from these kitchen windows. It’s my favorite place in all of the world to cook (and do dishes). The view speaks a little bit of peace to my heart. Try as I might I couldn’t get my camera to give you a glimpse of the lake from this angle, but trust me. It’s a beauty.

Here is a shot MyHandsomeHusband took outside last summer when everything was green. Pretty, isn’t it? As I said, it’s a little slice of heaven. Thanks to Moen for the wonderful new faucet!

  1. I am ready for a new refrigerator. My old one has little pockets where it likes to freeze things 🙁

  2. I would love a new faucet – we have replaced everything in the kitchen, BUT the faucet – your new Moen is just what I would love!!

  3. We are in great need of a kitchen makeover, including a new faucet. I would love to include a Moen faucet in our kitchen.

  4. Oh, that is a beauty! Don’t you love how everything is the cheapest possible in any new home? You’ve ALWAYS got to go through and replace things. Anyway, it’s time for a new microwave. The short version of the story is that last summer we ended up dragging out the little counter top microwave my husb had been hauling around since college, and the darned thing is only 300 watts. It’s nice that it doesn’t boil our food over, but it also doesn’t boil anything. Ever. It took almost ten minutes yesterday for me to get a quart measuring cup of water to even steam. Needless to say, I was also steaming.

  5. When we moved in to our lovely home two years ago, one of the first things I wanted replaced was the built in microwave/stove combo. Old, ugly, dirt that won’t clean off (even dismantling it didn’t get it clean) and it randomly locks itself. Still needs to be done!

  6. i would change the tile counter tops. the home came with those counter tops and i hate them.
