Chocolate Almond Joy Cookies

by Jamie

I have a great, extremely chewy, chocolate cookie of wonder for you all today. I took my favorite chocolate cookie recipe and loaded it up with sliced almonds, coconut and both milk and white chocolate chips.  It was the right thing to do, my friends. If you are an almond joy lover, I would wager you are going to be a big fan of these.

Hope some of you get a chance to try them!

Chocolate Almond Joy Cookies

Total Time: 1 hour

Yield: 48 cookies

Ingredients

1 C butter, softened
1 C white sugar
1 C dark brown sugar, packed
1 Tb milk
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 C flour
1 tsp soda
3/4 C cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
2 C milk chocolate chips
1 C white chocolate chips
1/2 C sliced almonds
1/2 C sweetened coconut

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Into your stand mixer or large mixing bowl place the softened butter, white sugar and dark brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is well combined (about 2 minutes).
3. Add the eggs and beat for an additional 1 minute. Add the milk and vanilla and beat just until it's mixed in.
4. In a separate bowl combine the flour, soda, cocoa and salt. Add it to the creamed mixture and mix until combined.
5. Add the milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, almonds and coconut. Mix just until combined.
6. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or just until the tops of the cookies are cracked. You want to be sure not to over bake here. The cookies will be super soft and chewy if they are underbaked just a bit. Remove the pans from the oven and allow them to continue cooking on the hot cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy!

These look FANTASTIC! I’ll be making them tonight. (I’d be making them right now if I had white chocolate chips on hand.)

All done! They’re delicious!

I wasn’t sure how much dough to use for each cookie, but I used a heaping tablespoon for each, and baked them for a bit more than 7 minutes. Perfect! Just perfect.

Thank you Jamie!

You mention milk twice in the method, but there are 2additions of milk. Should there be 2tbls of milk?
