Have you every wanted to brighten up a few corners of your home, in preparation for Easter? I have and I gave this fun Easter Grass a try last year.

It brought so much joy! I loved watching the little wheat berries sprout and turn into hearty grass. It only took about 12 days from planting to full grass and they lasted for about 3 weeks and just kept on growing.

I just used little containers I had in my kitchen, but you could certainly use gardening pots.
Let me show you how to make it happen!

Grab some potting mix…

…and some containers. I loved using lots of different sizes and shapes.

Place the potting soil into your containers.

For the seeds, I used the Wheat Berries from my food storage. I’ve made Whole Wheat Bread out of these berries for years and years. Fun to have a new use for them! Don’t have any in your food strage :)? You can buy a little bag of them on Amazon at this LINK.

Sprinkle your wheat berries over the top of the soil.

Spray generously with water. Generously, everyone. Soaking. Wet.

Cover the containers loosely with plastic wrap. I set mine in a sunny spot next to a window.

Remove the plastic wrap and spray them generously, very generously with water, morning and night, then recover with the plastic wrap. Once they start to sprout, leave the plastic off for good and let them grow. Keep watering each day, until the grass 3-4 inches tall.

Isn’t that pretty!

They lasted for about 3 weeks, and kept growing. I gave them a little haircut every week or so.
Pretty and bright and lovely!
Hope you get a chance to try it!
