Three years ago, this week,  I started stock piling recipes on this little blog of mine. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing! My earliest photos are enough to make you want to grab a gag bucket and run for cover. Truly. They are exceedingly scary. I’ve learned a few things since that time, and hope to learn a lot more about food photography and internet technology in general! This old mind is a slow teach, let me tell you that. Sometimes when I look at HTML coding (or speak on the phone with the technical support guy from Liquid Web) I feel like I have been dropped off in a foreign country where everyone knows how to communicate but me. Did I mention my exceedingly slow mind? Or perhaps it’s just full of recipe ideas and big bags of butter and sugar. I suppose that could make a mind run slowly, now couldn’t it! Suffice it to say, the technical side of blogging has been a bit of a thorn in my side as of late. I appreciate your patience and support as I have moved from Blogger to Wordpress and struggle to figure out how to make things work over here! Good glory. Who knew it was going to be so difficult. 🙂

That said.

I really, really, really love writing this blog. I love looking for new recipes for you all, and thinking about ingredients and what you all might like to make for dinner. I absolutely love hearing your cooking success stories and how these recipes have worked out well for you and your loved ones.

I love all of you cute college students that make these recipes for your room-mates.

I love to hear from those of you living in Australia and Mexico and Japan and all manner of foreign type places.

I smiled all day when I got an email that said “So, are you a Mormon? I thought you might be when I saw that you have a lot of kids and cook with Jello.” That one made me chuckle.

I get a kick out of comments that say “If I die, my husband wants to marry you.” Um. I’m pretty sure he’d be GIGANTICALLY disappointed when he sees me in person. Running a food blog can really put a kink in a girls waist line, if you know what I am saying here. Could someone please dust off my gym pass…it’s all covered in flour and sugar.

I laughed and laughed when someone emailed to ask if I could send them a printable copy of my “Turkey Breast of Wonder” recipe. They have a filter set up that won’t let them access anything online with the word “breast” in it. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Still makes me laugh. Probly didn’t help that I named it “Turkey Breast of WONDER”. I will take precausions in the future. 🙂

I love hearing you took first place in a cooking contest when you made this.

I cried when I got an email from a dear woman whose son is battling leukemia. I cried even more when she told me “I read your blog ever day just to see what normal people are doing and eating. It’s a nice comforting place to be.”

I love running into you at the grocery store, and meeting you at Discount Tire. 🙂 I love that you share my blog with your friends and family. I love that you come here, read my ramblings and make these recipes.

You are wonderful.  Thank you for making my day so many times over.

I have $100 Amazon Gift Card I would love to give to one of you. To enter the giveaway just leave me a comment at the bottom of this post telling me what kind of recipes you would like to see more of here on this little blog. I love a little feedback. 🙂 Winner will be announced on Monday morning.

Have a great Halloween, everyone! Be safe and carefull. No post tomorrow, due to the Holiday. Hope to see you back here on Thursday!

  1. I love your blog and thank you for taking the time to share such awesome recipes! You have such a variety so I’m pleased with the recipes so far. I would just request that you continue to post recipes that are easy, not too time consuming and not too many crazy ingredients. As a new mom, those 3 things are so important to me.

    Again thank you!

  2. I love your site…it has given me several “go to” recipes. I have used one of your recipes for 30+ people without trying it first, and without any second thought because I knew it would be even better than my tried and true recipes I had grown tired of. I love the personal parts as well…it speaks to me as a mom and a human being. Thank you for what you do!

  3. You are awesome. I love that you post a wide variety of recipes from desserts to salads and main dishes. I love reading your menu plans – they inspire me.

  4. Hi Jamie,

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Quiche recipe and would love to see a few more variations if you can come up with some.

Also a little more healthy food but with the trademark “Jamie taste”

and some crockpot recipes or casseroles 🙂

thanks for all you do Jamie
    Karen XO 🙂

  5. Happy, happy Birthday!! I found your blog about a year ago and have you in my RSS feed on google. LOVE all your recipes. I have done quie a few, but have tons more to go. What kind of recipes would I like to see? ALL you want to post. Really, I don’t have a favorite. 🙂 Thank you for everything.

  6. I love this blog! Creamy ranch crockpot chicken is our family’s favorite! We love it! I’d love to see a weekly light recipe or two instead of such decadent recipes. Maybe some light variations would be great too!

  7. I’m so glad one of my friends told me about your blog! 🙂 Love your recipes & your insights into food & life. 🙂 I know if I try one of your recipes, it’s gonna be Yum-O!!!

  8. I came across yoru sight through the Turkey Breast of Wonder pin on Pinterest. It is truly one of the best recipes I have made. I’m always a sucker for soup recipes, especially in the fall and you can never go wrong by posting yummy crockpot recipes. Happy Birthday and thanks for getting us out of the drive thru line and into the kitchen!
