THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

Today, I really REALLY wanted to post a fabulous new recipe for you all. That was my plan all week-long, you see. But as luck would have it, my good intentions were rudely interrupted by fact that my kitchen sink simply decided to come unglued from her usual spot and fell right out from under the counter-top leaving me with no running water (or sink!) in my kitchen and 500 dirty dishes just begging to be cleaned.

This is not a joke.

Would I lie to you?

No way, man. I would not.

Good times around here, my friends. After I washed the previously mentioned 500 dishes (give or take 450) in my bathtub during the late night hours, I had a good nights rest and woke up ready and willing to serve my family cheap, five dollar pizza for the duration my small kitchen crisis. (Which should be over in the next 24 hours or so. At least that was the good news given to me today by MyHandsomeHusband aka Repair Man of Wonder).

And so, dear readers, instead of a new recipe for you today I am giving away one of my favorite kitchen appliances of all time.

Isn’t she a beauty!

I would love to give one of you lucky readers a brand spanking new Ninja Kitchen System 1200 (BL700), complete with a small and large pitcher and many different cutting blades (including a whipping blade and dough hook).

I absolutely adore this contraption. I use it for all kinds of things, including smoothie making, chopping nuts, veggies, blending up graham cracker crumbs for crusts, making salad dressings, whipping cream, blending dips..etc, etc, etc…I have even used it in a pinch to make cookie dough and bread dough! Amazing, it is.

I use mine every day.

Just like I used to use my kitchen sink every day.

Until she went rogue on me. Dang thing. Hoping once she has been restored to her full glory, we can be friends again. She and I spend a lot of time together after all. 🙂

To enter the giveaway all you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of your kitchen mishaps. (Goodness knows we all have them!) Did you accidentally pour freshly made gravy down the sink? Did you burn your husbands birthday cake? Did your chicken soup boil over while you were eating chocolate and reading a great book?

I would love to hear your stories. Everyone needs a good laugh now and then, right! You may enter from now until Thursday March 6th. Winner will be announced and contacted on Friday March 7th.

Good luck, everyone!

  1. I was very ill with the flu with a very high fever. All I wanted was some chicken soup but all I had in my cupboards was Ramen chicken noodles. Not wanting to spend the time to make it in the stove, I opted to make it in the microwave to reduce time because I was not feeling well. When I came back into the kitchen to get my meal, the microwave was smoking just about on fire…. I forgot to add water to my noodles. 🙁 Needless to say I did not eat anything and went back to bed.

  2. My worst kitchen disaster was 4yrs ago Thanksgiving. I had my oven loaded; turkey on one shelve and stuffing and sweet potatoes on the lower. Just as guests were arriving I went to pull the turkey out and baste one last time and the top oven rack slide and the turkey and ham tipped in the oven spilling all the hot juices in the stuffing and potatoes then it ran out of the oven into the bottom drawer and all over the floor. Worst ever…..

  3. The most memorable mishap I’ve had, (and continue to get teased about) is that I used some Apple scented dish soap to clean out a pan that I was using for some Peanut Butter bars. Apparently, I didn’t rinse the pan well enough. The PB Bars tasted like soap, with a hint of apple flavoring. I still get requests from those people I made them for, to make them some, minus the Soap!

  4. Came home at lunch one day and decided to boil a couple of eggs for tuna salad that evening. Forgot I put them on and went back to work. Came home to a barking dog, a screeching smoke alarm and egss shells blasted all over the wall by the stove! Now I make sure NOTHING is even sitting on the stove before I leave the house!!!

  5. While hurrying to get my Christmas cookies made before I took the kids to school in the morning, I lost track of everything I was doing and my phone started ringing, thinking I was turning my mixer off, I turned it on high, and powdered sugar and butter went everywhere!

  6. I made my husband cinnamon toast for breakfast when we were first married. Unfortunately, I used salt instead of sugar. The look on his face when he tasted it was priceless.

  7. When I was younger, my mom always spinned the ketchup bottle round and round to get the last drop. One time she did it and the lid came off. Ketchup everywhere. I think we were cleaning ketchup for years.
A few weeks I go, I was walking across a carpeted room with a large bowl of salsa. I tripped. The bowl flew. Not a normal drop and spill, but something straight out of America’s Funniest Home Videos. There was salsa EVERYWHERE!!

  8. I somehow burned broccoli (all the water evaporated) and put the hot pan on the counter. Walked away for a minute and ruined my counter!

  9. I decided to ignore all of the rules of physics & blend a sauce that was still scalding hot. Went all over the kitchen. I will heed the warnings from now on.
