With Mothers Day just around the corner, I thought it might be fun to take a break from my normal recipe routine and share with you instead some fun ideas for Mothers Day Gift Giving. Just in case you have a mother, sister, wife, daughter or other significant woman in your life that enjoys cooking or baking and would love getting something cool for her kitchen.

These gift suggestions are all items I own, love and use regularly (excepting some darling striped mixing bowls I couldn’t help but covet and add to the list for you and I to feast our eyes upon and hope someone, somewhere sees them and buys them for us…)

All of the gifts listed are under $40. 🙂 I have included a link with each item that will take you to either Amazon or Pampered Chef where they are available for purchase, should you feel so inclined.

I would love to give one of you wonderful  readers two of the items below. The winner will be allowed to choose from the list below. All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me one of your Mothers Day traditions. Do you accept breakfast in bed, do you travel to your Mom’s house for a family brunch, do you lay in a hot bath while reading a good book, do you sleep in an extra 10 minutes and call it good? Tell me all about it, won’t you?

Giveaway will be open until Tuesday May 6th, winner will be announced on Wednesday May 7th.

Enjoy!

Ronco Showtime Six Star+ 12 Piece Knife Set

Price: about $40 at Amazon

I love this knife set. I use the short fat knife (on the far left) multiple times a day. Don’t know what I would do with out it. If my house were burning down, I would grab my children first and that short stubby knife second. It’s nice and sharp and is great not only for chopping, but for scooping up the chopped items and tossing them into a bowl or skillet. I couldn’t get along with out it. The other knives it comes with are great as well.

Prepworks from Progressive GPC-4000 Fruit and Vegetable Chopper

Price: about $35 at Amazon

My parents gave me this fabulous chopper several years ago and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for evenly chopping root veggies for soup and pototoes for these fabulous Simple Skillet Breakfast Potatoes. It’s also wonderful to chop large batches of tomatoes, pepper and onions for homemade salsa.

Zyliss Easy Spin Salad Spinner, 4-6 Servings, Green

Price: about $20.00 at Amazon

This salad spinner makes washing and drying lettuce a breeze. It’s big enough to fit at least 1 large head of romaine lettuce.

Nordic Ware Half Sheet Cover, 13 by 18 Inch

Price: between $7-10 at Amazon.

A lid? You are thinking…what is so great about a lid! Well let me tell you. This baby fits over the top of my large cookie sheets, which means I can cover up any leftovers that might be hanging around. Sweet Rolls, Breadsticks, Cookies…you name it. This baby can cover it and keep it nice and fresh.

Pampered Chef Medium and Small Scoop

Price: between $15-20 at Pampered Chef.

I use these scoops for cupcake batter and cookie dough. They work well and make baked goods even in size. Love them. You can find them online at Pampered Chef by clicking the link above.

Paula Deen Signature Stoneware Rectangular Baker, 9 by 13-Inch, Red Speckle

Price: about $30 at Amazon.

I love this red baking dish and use it regularly. The sides are a bit taller than normal 9×13 pans. It bakes nice and evenly and makes for a pretty pot luck display.

Paula Deen Signature Pantryware 3-Piece Melamine Mixing Bowl Set, Red Stripe

Price: about $30 on Amazon.

Aren’t these bowls cute! I don’t actually own these, but read a lot of great reviews about them on Amazon. I imagine they would put a smile on the face of any home cook. 🙂 Especially mine…hint, hint to MyHandsomeHusband.

Creative Co-Op Ceramic Measuring Cup Set

Price: about $15 at Amazon.

Aren’t these measuring cups fun? I bought some at a local gift shop recently and can’t get enough of them.  Measuring flour in a polka-dotted cup makes me happy, ok? Weird, I know.

Freshware CB-305SC 12-Pack Flower Silicone Reusable Baking Cup, Six Vibrant Colors

Price: about $11 at Amazon.

These Silicone Baking cups are a great way to dress up ordinary muffins or plain-looking cupcakes. You could even use them as little candy cups for a party.

That’s it, gang. Hope you found some Mothers Day Gift inspiration!

  1. After church and trying to convince my oldest to go sing with the rest of the kids we head to either my mom’s or mother-in-law’s houses for the afternoon.

  2. I always invite my mom over and I prepare the dinner. I love having her here. I have started a new tradition for my daughters and daughter in laws. I send them a small book each year.

  3. When I was little, I loved to make cakes for every event that took place in our home, Mothers Day was no exception. My very first solo cake was actually a Mothers Day cake! I made a chocolate cake, and mixed together a can of chocolate frosting with a can of strawberry frosting. I was so proud of myself, I can’t remember but I’m sure it was disgusting! I remember my mom complementing me with every bite, because that’s what amazing mothers do!…. As for me, I stay in bed until I hear the battle cries of my beautiful small children fighting, and smell the smoke from a wonderful husband making burnt bacon and perfectly over-crisp hash browns, absolute heaven… so what time is that like, 8:00am? Happy Mothers Day!

  4. I don’t cook on Mother’s day, though, that being said…. We usually go eat and then I feel bad we spent money on food that I could make just as well at home. So not sure what we are doing this year…. And my favorite part is the homemade cards from my kids!

  5. We are blessed to live close to my mom & my husband’s mom, so Mother’s day involves lots of visiting. After, we have our whole family together at the cemetery just for a little while.

  6. We make all the boys take care of Sunday dinner. With 24 of us each week, that’s a lot of work so it’s nice to have a break. And it’s pretty entertaining too!

  7. The kiddos usually make me breakfast in bed. Mother’s Day has been declared a “no work” day for Mom, so I try to squeeze in a crafting time to take advantage of the free time.

  8. I absolutely LOVE Mother’s Day! It is usually spent with my immediate and extended family – sharing a very nice dinner. This year will be different 🙁 My husband and I had to move out of town to help him with his health problems, so we won’t be around our family and extended family for the very first time. I’m very sure that my husband will make a very nice dinner for us, and spoil me. He’s amazing!

  9. I still consider myself a new mom. My one and only is turning 5 this year. The first couple years after my daughter was born, we went to see my mom and my mother in law on Mother’s Day. Then I thought, “hey, this is my day too!” Now we do a family activity and have family time. Last year we closed on our house right before Mother’s Day so we spent Mother’s Day painting. A year later and we still have painting to do. I think we might do that again this year. Lol
