This fabulous taco meat is juicy, seasoned perfectly and can be on the dinner table in under 30 minutes. We use it for Build your Own Taco Salad, Crispy Beef and Cheese Burritos, Sheet Pan Taco Nachos and just regular tacos. This recipe makes a pretty big batch. I like to freeze half of it for a night when things get crazy and busy.
Hope you get a chance to try it!

Delicious!

These are two of the seasonings I add to this recipes. The Kinder’s Woodfired Garlic really adds to the depth of flavor in the meat. It’s available at most grocery stores, including Sam’s Club and Costco or through Amazon.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds ground beef (I like 93% lean, 7% fat)
- 1/2 C yellow or white onion, minced
- 1 T garlic, minced (bottled works great)
- 2 (15 oz) cans diced tomatoes (with juice)
- 2 Tb Kinder's Woodfired Garlic Seasoning (pictured above)
- 2 Tb taco seasoning (I like McCormick)
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp oregano
Instructions
- Grab a large, deep skillet and heat it over medium high heat.
- Add your ground beef, onion and garlic. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook until it's no longer pink and has browned up nicely for you.
- Add the canned tomatoes (with the juice), and all of the seasonings. Stir well to combine and allow the mixture to come to a simmer. Grab the lid to the pan and cover it half way, allowing some of the steam to escape, but covering enough of the pan the the juices don't hop out of the pan.
- Let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve in warm tortillas with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream.
Enjoy!
Notes
This meat freezes super well. I generally freeze half of it in a quart sized zip loc bag.
