Do I have a fabulous morsel, strait from heaven for you today. This is seriously the best thing that ever happened to a cake mix. Seriously. So seriously!  This chocolate sauce is made from very basic ingredients, is inexpensive and quite easy to put together. You are going to be praising me…praising me, I say. But to be honest, I have to give credit to the sauce maker extraordinaire living on the premises. MyHandsomeHusband always makes the chocolate sauce around here. This recipe and instructions come from him.

Make some of this sauce and pour it over vanilla ice cream and Devil’s Food Cake. You will be wondering how in the devil you have lived your life with out it!
Homemade Chocolate Sauce
Yield: 1 1/2 C sauce

1 can evaporated milk
4 t corn starch
4 t cocoa powder
1 C sugar
2 T salted butter, divided
1/2 t vanilla
1. Put all of the ingredients (minus 1 T of butter) into a medium sized sauce pan.
2. Whisk the mixture together until it is well incorporated. The butter will still be chunky.
3. Put your sauce pan on the stove and turn to medium heat. Stir the mixture while it heats up. The butter will melt and once it all comes to a boil the mixture will thicken.
4. Take it off the burner when thickened and add 1 T of butter. Stir until the butter is melted and incorporated. Serve while still warm.
