On this beautiful Memorial Day Monday I am inclined to pay tribute to the men and women who have died fighting for the freedom of all Americans. I learned today that over 1,300,000 soldiers have given their lives for the cause of freedom, since the time of our country’s birth. I honor them today, and their families as well. You have my deepest respect and my undying gratitude. I owe my privileged life of freedom to you. Thank you.
I am going to have my kids sit down today, and watch this video that honors those who have fallen for our freedom. I’m hoping it will spark the opportunity for conversation and help plant in them a growing sense of patriotism, gratitude and respect.
I want them to understand that there is a price for freedom.
That we are blessed beyond measure…
to live in land of the free
and the home of the brave.
