I like to buy these bags of precut veggies, they make it so easy! Just place them in a large glass bowl, add a bit of water to the bottom of the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 5 minutes on high. Allow them to sit and rest, then microwave for another 2-3 minutes or until the veggies are tender.

Toss with a bit of butter, salt and a bit of lemon pepper, if you like that seasoning. If not, it’s just as good without it.

Steamed Broccoli and Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) package broccoli florets
  • 1 (16 oz) package carrot chips
  • 2 Tb water
  • 1 Tb butter
  • salt
  • lemon pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the broccoli and carrots into a large glass bowl. Add the water to the bottom of the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap.
  2. Cook on high, in the microwave for 5 minutes. Allow the veggies to rest in the microwave, covered for a few minutes. Then cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until tender.
  3. Carefully uncover the bowl. Make sure to let the steam out away from your hands and body so you don't get burned. 😉
  4. Toss with butter, salt and lemon pepper.

Serve and enjoy!
