Last week when I was grocery shopping I found myself shoulder to shoulder with a sweet older gal. We were looking at the bananas.
She sighed and said ” Remember when these were half the price?”
“Yes” I said. ” I think it was last Wednesday.”
Grocery prices are sobering these days, my friends. Are they not?
Bananas seem to be least of our worries. The price of beef, chicken and even eggs is enough to make a person bite her fingernails into stubbs. 🙂
Thus, today I’ve put 20 of my cheapest dinner recipes together for you all. Simple, budget friendly ways to keep our families fed. Most of them are either meatless, or call for limited protein. You’ll notice that many of them include rotisserie chicken. Both Costco and Sam’s club have kept the price of rotisserie chicken the same, despite inflation. It seems to be the cheapest way to buy chicken right now, which is actually a double win since it’s delicious and already cooked. A blessing to be sure. I’ve also noticed pork to remain pretty affordable as well, so you’ll see that reflected in the recipes I’ve selected.
If you are in to baking yeast breads or quick breads and muffins (which is a huge money saver!) please see my category for each of those.
My love to all of you out there. Let’s hang in there together.
